Description

nice spot 3 mins from vermillion bay, looks like a seldom used boat launch and campsite. really nice spot beside the lake, far enough from the highway that noise isn't an issue. great sunset spot.

access road is tight with trees, but plenty of room at the site.

3 bars cell service, good swimming rock down the shoreline, good hammock spot and some good wildlife.

be respectful of local boaters trying to launch if someone shows up, make sure you give them lots of room.

Report Check-In

A resident came to see us in the morning. They don’t want people to camp there anymore because some did fires when it wasn’t allowed. He’s thinking about blocking the acces.

We said that people from iOverlander are usually respectfull and that we think it is local persons that probably use that spot for party.

Let stay respectfull so we don’t lose acces to that kind of place! 😉

Sign that prohibits overnight camping but such a cool spot to swim, make a fire and chill! We stayed for a few hours, nobody was there and it was perfect.

Keep it clean :)

Report Check-In

Theres now a "no overnight camping allowed" sign on the access road. We stayed for the night anyway and had a great evening but a guy came at 6am to tell us we weren't allowed to camp here and told us to spread the word..... at your own risk. great place though

Report Check-In

there's now a large no overnight parking/camping sign at the entrance. it's very beautiful though for day use.

Really beautiful spot, has a fire pit (did not have a fire as we are under a fire ban) and plenty of room. We are 27’ long and had no issues turning around, however we were the only ones here. Could be more difficult if there were other campers around!
Lake is a nice temperature for a swim too!
There is a water boat that takes off and lands on this lake, it was very neat to see, quite loud!
Highly recommend this place!

Very nice place ! The temperature of the water is really great! Locals come fishing at the spot, but they’re very nice.

Report Check-In

As described and worth the trouble to find the entrance of the road. Try to reach it before the night. Then no problem to find the spot and room enough to turn around. Room for 2 camper vans. Thank for the discovering of this seclusion spot. Keep it clean.

Very nice and quiet spot to spend the night. Awesome sunset.

Beautiful spot on crown land. Trail has been recently brushed out so it was easy access for our truck camper (24ft). Lots of firewood around for a fire in the stone ring. Bugs were no problem while we were here. Room for maybe 2 small units like our truck camper or vans if you're friendly with your neighbor. Not super level but workable. The lake is called Long Lake. As someone else mentioned, don't block the boat launch. Cell service was decent on Rogers and Bell.

Report Check-In

Narrow rocky route off the road to get here but super short. Once arrived, WOW! What a gorgeous spot!! Very few mosquitos at the time. Faint highway and train noises, way better than other spots though!

Report Check-In

Great spot to camp! We pitched a tent and swam in the lake! The site was clean and it was quiet overnight, though one other car came by in the morning. There was a fire pit left by others previously. Would stay again!
