Campground on lakeshore, campsites at various levels off winding/tortuous roads - ours easily accessible, others less convenient, flush toilets/ablutions close by, sites with picnic tables (ours with two) and firepits. Some traffic noise from highway across the lake, loud train horns (86 dB-A) from passing trains (hope they are not all night!), CAD 54.78.
Report Check-InPretty good camping spot overall. Here are my pros and cons:
Pros:
- almost all of the sites have lake access for swimming
- beautiful sunset/sunrise views (depending which way you face)
- mixture of sun and shade throughout the day
Cons:
- railroads very close and it gets pretty loud when the trains come through
- sites are close together so not too much privacy (I went when there weren’t many people so it wasn’t an issue)
Overall great park, fairly clean park, friendly staff, good sites. Trees are turning colors this time of year, water is very cold but refreshing.
Report Check-InWe were looking for hot showers and clean up from wild camping. Be aware the trains run very close by, you can see them, till almost midnight and start at 6am? Lots of noise from them and Hwy noise. The tent area to the west side of park is more scenic and should be less impacted by train
Report Check-InWon’t be back, way too crowded place to camp. No trees/bushes between campsites. Too many people squished into one area. Loud campsite with people partying loudly til 2am. Trains running loudly throughout the night.
