Mexico
We stopped for our dog to have a run around and a drink, we walked under the bridge and there are hundreds of bats living under it in between the cracks! Very very cool to see, worth stopping for a second. Does smell like bat pop though hehe.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
bats are still there, but hard to see during the day. probably cool to watch them go in and out at dusk.
Report Check-InWas here around noon and tried to look around the two tunnels but no signs of any bats.
Report Check-InCould see the guano and hear the bats, but I wasn't able to see them through the cracks. With a brighter flashlight and a lesser fear of getting pooped on, you might have some luck.
The bridge was Laguna Salada 1, around the 70km marker(ish)
Super cool to see all the bats in the cracks! We had a very strong flashlight and could see/hear them perfectly but otherwise you wouldn’t be able to see them between the cracks — as others posted. Thanks to the OP for this!
Report Check-InWe could hear the bats and smell the guano, but could not see them in the cracks of the bridge.
Report Check-InBats are still here. Land was dry but they were difficult to see in the daylight. Nice to listen to though. Stinky.
Report Check-InStopped and there’s still bats here! It’s very muddy, but worth it for animal fans. The bats are under the main bridge, Laguna Salada I, in the cracks (note the stripe-like guano piles). We visited in the morning, so they weren’t visible in the cracks. It might be really good to visit around dusk and watch them leave.
