Something not right?

Description

No "no overnight" parking signs, there's a public washroom just up the street open all night. Off the main road.
OPP came by at night to check on us - he said he was making sure we weren't "the kids that come here to drink". He even saw our empty beer from dinner and said nothing. Wished us a good stay. No worries at all, and OPP confirms there's no bylaw at night anyways.
Beautiful view to wake up to.

TRAINS!

The spot is really nice, however, there were 4 or 5 trains throughout the night. They are loud and long! Dan close by too, sound of the water rushing through is quite nice. Road is quiet in the evening.

Nice restaurant down the road with friendly bartender if you fancy a pint.

First time even hearing of or coming to this town, and wow. What a place! Beautiful small town in Muskoka. I happened to show up to what seemed like a very packed small town. the bars were full, tonnes of cars in all of the parks and other public lots, but then pulled in here and not a single car! as I was setting up, an RV pulled in and they had never stayed here either. But it turns out 54/40 is playing at the town's venue tonight and that's why it's so busy! Anyway, went for a pint at a beautiful patio down the road, came back and 2 other vehicles parked next to mine but doesn't look like over nighter sleepers. anyway, very nice spot. Public bathrooms at all of the local parks nearby. Restaurants, pubs, great little town

bala new bridge 2023 early morning photos

Report Check-In

Visited very late at night. some construction still on-going but was able to drive past the road under train brige and park with an SUV. possibly newly constructed wooden plank road over a bridge exists but did not attempt to cross with car as the other side was blocked by construction machines.

I suspect the bridge would be safe to cross my foot.

the river under the bridge is a rager.

both entrance points to this spot are closed for construction

Great place to stay. The last Train passed by at 11PM. We sleep until 10AM without any noise.

Report Check-In

great view of the lake, right next to the railway.
public toilet over the bridge and down the hill, past the Cenotaph.

Report Check-In

The spot is big and nice but in order to come there you need to either cross a bridge max 5 tons or go under another bridge with low clearance (3m). So if you’re a big rig watch out! I would say it’s not big rig friendly because of that.

Good spot to stay the night, theres a small water fall that gives white noise, good for sleeping. The only complaint is it’s about 10 feet away from the train tracks and there’s a train that comes multiple times a night.

Nice place for any rig. In the middle of town. Next to a road, water, and train.
Great spot to stop and sleep, but theres no alone time though.

We stayed one night in this email parking lot beside the bridge. Perfect for chilling by the river or for walking up to the pub. We went bothered but the train scared the crap out of us. Where you park is directly beside the tracks. Otherwise all good. I can imagine this spot being a lot noisier in none Civid times.
