Visited in a Saturday night. A fair amount of people fishing but not too many people camping, so plenty of campsites available. A few random cars come through at throughout the night, but traffic was fairly light. Campsites were grassy and a little overgrown. Overall, not too bad of a place.
Report Check-InDefinitely a diamond of a find. Only a few minutes from town but remote enough to feel secluded. There are at least four turnoff from the road, all easily accessible. Pit toilets in all four locations and trash facilities in at l east two. This is a terrific spot on a lake that is spread out enough that you don't feel crowded. This location has a boat launch, so trailers of all sizes are no problem.
Report Check-InGreat spot to spend the night. Plenty of room for just about any size vehicle. Free, maximum 14 day stay. Warden came by to check-in come evening and was extremely friendly. Not too crowded, yet enough people to feel very safe. One thing to note - if approaching from the North (I.e. I-70 or K-10), the final 4 miles are a gravel road. if coming from I-35, it is paved the whole way.
