Very beautiful, clean and friendly place. Loved the very much and stayed for 6 nights 😊

Report Check-In

Really great camping spot as a base for Arusha and the area. You can also stay in the beautiful house as well if prefer.

Paul and Erika are the hosts and can help with pretty much anything - drinks, food, tours and introductions. They also run Shaw safari which will rent out well kitted out land rovers. For self drive. They also have a small Land Rover garage if you needs some checks done.

One of our top spots to camp across Africa.

Report Check-In

Lively level grassy campsites with excellent ablutions. No power. Supervisor came to make fire if needed. Nice touch.. Great hosts Paul and Erica, provide drinks on veranda with stunning view of Mt Meru., and dinner on request . Really knowledgeable on all things Arusha and beyond . Recommended.

Really cool place! Big lawn area! Erica and Paul are great hosts. Had beers on the deck. They gave us so much information about the national parks and where to stay. Very knowledgeable!! Good ablutions. Good wifi!

Report Check-In

Shady place with grass, clean ablutions and outside kitchen/dishwashing. USD 15 ppn. Very friendly hosts, drinks and fireplace on the verandal, meals possible upon request. It is our second visit - a real treat for one night but deserving a longer stay.

Lovely stay at Twiga lodge. It certainly ticks all the boxes and should be visited. We went on a safari to the park, hiked up the mountainside, enjoyed evenings with our hosts and even met their lovely friends. Felt like home.

For starters, $15ppn isn't cheap, but slept here anyway, and had such a peaceful and blissful experience.  Found another couple from SA overlanding in a defender, and instantly became family. The owners have a workshop next to the campsite dealing in mainly Landies, so it's the kind of place you want to sleep at as a Landy overlander.

Ablutions are fantastic, with warm (hot) showers. Very clean toilets. There is WiFi as well in the campsites.  It's a very quiet campsite.

The numbers shared below/ this threadare still the same and legit.

I would highly recommend a stay here.

We stayed here for 4 nights. This is a lovely campsite situated in the grounds of a most beautiful lodge at the gates to Arusha National Park. views of Mt Meru and Mt Kilimanjaro on clear days. Stunning gardens and a viewing tower out over the park. Elephants, bushbuck, giraffe sometimes visit the campsite, we had elephant come when we stayed but he devoured away from the camp and bushbuck, plus a big variety of birdlife including 2 white cheeked hornbill. The campsite has large spaces, a great ablution block with hot running showers and a super kitchen boma again with hot running water. Paul and Erika are such amazing hosts and really welcoming, Paul has alot of knowledge on the bird and wildlife and offers guided tours of Arusha NP in one of their safari vehicles. Also drinks and wonderful meals available. There is also a team of mechanics from @shawsafaris on site in a well appointed workshop and we were able to have our truck serviced and repairs done (see review on Shaw safari) while we camped in this beautiful and peaceful setting. camping 15 USD pppn. Highly recommend. @a.truck.called.wanda

We stayed 2 nights. It’s $15pppn, also $15 for water, $15 for electricity and extra charge if you want to use the Wi-Fi. We were in a truck and limited spaces for larger vehicles as not large level areas. Lovely campsite but we saw no kitchen facilities or braii stands. Great ablution block and the main lodge is lovely. We asked for laundry and were quoted $30 per load. Right by the gate to the park.

We stayed 10 nights at the beautiful Twiga Lodge campsite, enjoying 5* hospitality from the 🇬🇧 owners Erika and Paul. Brand new sparkling clean bathrooms with hot showers in a most wonderful green garden setup. The Lodge is only 700 m away from Arusha National Park's gate. The seasoned travelers love sharing their experience, we've hardly ever met someone more knowledgeable on our Cape Town to Uganda trip.
We stored our car for free when we went to Serengeti for 10 days and had our trailer bearings serviced at the well stocked workshop. Paul employs two fabulous mechanics. Also, their food is really great!
Camping US$ 15 pppn including power.
Firewood US$ 5
Home baked bread US$ 4 (highly recommended)
Note that Twiga Lodge/Shaw Safaris is located in USAriver, some 20 km outside Arusha

Great campsite close to Arusha. Tarmac road up to about 1km from the lodge. Camping fees are 15USD pppn. Grassy camp spot with excellent ablution facilities with hot water.

Report Check-In

Nicest place we’ve stayed on our trip so far. We really felt at home at Paul and Erika’s Twiga Lodge. We were welcomed with a cold beer after a long drive and as others have said before their lodge and campsite are beautiful. It was hard to say goodbye and we’ll definitely be back again!

Wonderful place with the best ablutions so far!

Report Check-In

Incredible campsite and lodge with an insane view of Mt Meru! Owned by lovely English couple, Paul and Erica - both are extremely helpful with tips of places to go and planning safari trips (they also have a safari tour company and self drive cars for rent if interested). 15USD pp for camping. 15USD breakfast, 25USD dinner, 3USD a bottle of beer.

Lodge is beautiful and campsite has great new shower and toilet block with hot water and very good water pressure. Wi-fi within reach even from the tent. Plenty of space for big rigs and tents in the grounds. Elephants are regularly visiting the camp too, we heard them walk past our tent at this morning! Paul will point out all the various animals and noises, he can also show you the best spot in the garden to view Mt Meru on one side and Kili on the other! They have even built a watch tower overlooking Arusha National Park. Erica is an incredible cook and even cooks a roast dinner on a Sunday!

Paul also owns a garage in the grounds and was a mechanic in the UK, if your vehicle needs any work he is more than happy to help.

very nice campsite owned by Erica and Paul just below Mount Meru and the entry to Arusha National park (turn left just before the National park sign/arch, rocky road a few hundred meter, then gate on the left, no signs) . the place is very well maintained, has great showers and a sink for dishes is being completed right now. We got great recommendations of what to do and where to go all over the northern circuit from Paul and Erica, as well as our Jeep Wrangler checked (they also rent out Landrovers for self drive -> Shaw Safari Ltd). The Arusha National Park is worth exploring in a great day trip, we also did a long walking safari (4-6h) with a ranger (Aly) which was really amazing. The place could probably also host bigger rigs, just go and ask them. Vehicle storage also possible.

Lovely green campsite, great ablutions, friendly owners with good travel tips. Lots of birds around. Paul and Erica also run Shaw Safaris renting out Land Rover Defenders for overland trips. Their workshop gave Shelley The Shed a good once over and she's now running like new.

Really great campsite in an almost English Garden setting. Yet you are bordering Arusha National Park with Elephants regularly in the campsite and brilliant birding.

Very good ablution block. No kitchen block.

The owners Paul and Erica are amazing and will give you endless advice and information on any Safari you may want to do around northern Tanzania.

They also has a self drive car business and rent out landrovers for self drive safari.

They fixed some issues on our Landy for very reasonable prices.

Can easily get to Moshi, Arusha or Kili airport from here so nice and central place for the beginning of Northern Circuit Safari.

We paid US$15 pppn, they can serve food but need prior warning.

Nice green campsite with clean ablution block and very nice hot shower. There is a fire place and they provide fire wood if you like. Paul is an enthusiastic host and likes to do a bird tour in his colourful garden. The lodge has a view point from where you have a good view into Arusha NP. Erica can arrange entrance tickets for the park. Price for camping is $15,- p.p.p.n.
Best place for camping in this area!

They also have a workshop and a good Landrover mechanic. They did a service on our car and arranged some parts in Arusha, for resonable prices!
