The views here are beautiful but beware if you have a dog. I was in my van with my dog and the slider door was open. Two other dogs, one white and one black, jumped into my van. The white one started growling at my dog and I quickly shooed it out. There were no humans around and they ran off. About fifteen minutes later I was outside and they came back over and the white one again started growling and nipping at my dog. I put my dog in the van and went to see who they belonged to. I spoke to Tonya, who I believe stays here permanently, to make her aware that her dog came into my van and was aggressive. She said that they are protecting their territory and had every right to come in my van and be aggressive. She got very defensive and I told her I was just trying to make her aware of the situation. After a heated discussion, I went back to my area and she then came over a few minutes later and threatened me to leave. I packed up as she continued yelling at me. If you do stay here be careful with your dogs.

Stopped here for a nap midday. Nice and quiet, away from the main road. Nobody here. A little muddy/snowy toward the top… Need AWD/4WD with snow/rain

Nice free spot that feels pretty safe. A little bit of a slant but totally doable. Good service on AT&T, Visible and Mint. There's a sign at the entrance indicating that this is free camping and a sign further in explaining the rules (no fires, leave no trace). Good views of you walk around the property. Watch out at the entrance, which is narrow and with rocks on each side. All-in-all, great spot, please don't mess it up!

Thank you Dan! Incredible views and a gem of a spot.

Great spot. Thank you Dan. We set up in the afternoon & walked down to the Arkansas River Headwaters (approx 1 mile, moderately steep). Beautiful mountain scapes all around. We have a 25’ class C - it fit nicely, room for a few more.

Dan’s Land is a little treasure located on a ridge with amazing views. Small-ish lot that can accommodate maybe 6 van/truck size campers. Thank you so much for your generosity Dan!
Let’s all keep this place clean! No fires, preferably no glass. Good cell service with ATT.

Dan's the man!
great free spot. Great view!

Incredible spot. Location is dead on with the coordinates. Room for 4 or 5 up to about 30ft. Or a couple of big rigs might fit. Turn is tight off the road. Ideally about 30' or less. Road is dirt and v good. Occasional mild washboard. Any RV, van etc could make it.
Spectacular scenery - a high vantage point that gives distant peaks for almost 360 degrees. One of the best spots yet.
Anyone who knows Dan - please thank him. Top Spot!

Great views! Some Verizon LTE service, no fires allowed and please pack out trash and Leave no trace.

Let’s keep this amazing FREE spot open. The BLM camping down the road is online reservation only, at $28 per night.

The generosity of the land owner to offer this beautiful space to travelers is so awesome. Please leave this space better than you found it. Thank you Dan’s Land!!!

Fabulous location! You need to be 100% self contained. The road is dirt, and in my case, snow packed. Would be helpful to have 4 wheel drive but may work without it. The campsite is a “gift” from a guy named Dan who likes to share his incredible view. I met Kristian and Tanya, camp hosts that oversee the land ... fabulous people! The campsite has views galore ... you don’t want to miss this one. We need more Dan’s in the world! Thank you!
