Something not right?

Description

A corner parking area with 2 picnic ramadas with tables and garbage bins just off the highway exit ramp. A little quieter than the truck stop right across the interstate. Plenty of space for a large rig or 2 along the outside and 3 or 4 shaded parking spots on the inner side but with very low hanging branches, would be great for a car to get a break from the Texas sun but wouldn't even try cramming my 8 foot tall van in there. Not another soul during our overnight there, trucks seem to use the Valero across the interstate which by the way had really good breakfast burritos and decent coffee. Definitely still have highway noise over here but otherwise extremely peaceful and got a great night's rest here.

Deserted, yep. No one around so we let our kitty to roam a bit. She stayed close and we had a comfy night. Easy access to gas station across the street and a bulk ice and filtered water vending (ICE 2U). 5 gallons of water for $1! We stocked up

although the location would be nice for a night, we were shocked by the amount of dead birds right under the trees. we decided to drive further east to the rest area.

Parked on the North end of the lot for an afternoon and night and had the whole place to ourselves! Better yet - no knocks!

As others have described. For others wondering like me, there's an entrance and exit on the two crossing roads, with main entry on 17. We got here late in the pm and there was no one else here.

Came in at night which made it difficult to find- right off the exit. Great cell service. Not a single other car in the 2 nights we stayed. Sheriff pulled up this morning, but only for a safety check as we hadn’t moved in a couple days- Informed us it is perfectly fine to stay here and then he moved along. Access to beautiful mountains and trails right down the road. We attempted to drive south of here to some other picnic areas that were listed but we lost cell coverage pretty quickly and had to turn back.

great spot for a quick overnight. road noise not too loud. stayed with my truck and 17ft travel trailer and i don’t think anyone else came by.

Reeves County picnic area. Two covered tables and three trash cans and a decent Verizon signal. When you read the descriptions of other test areas along this interstate this place is quieter and less traveled while still close to the interstate and gas stations and a cafe on the south side of the freeway. Good for a night.

Picnic area off i-10 near Balmorhea TX and hwy17.

As described. No signage prohibiting overnight stay.

of the 3 shaded areas, only 1 had branches high enough to park my van under. A nice spot to be on a hot Texas afternoon. There is some traffic noise but not too bad. Great T Mobile cell service, better than at the Walmart I was at last night.

place is as described, but avoid/check the spots under the trees. I stayed there for the night, and woke up to a bird massacre. There were dead baby birds, and bird poop all over my vehicle. The uncovered spot would of been a better choice for that night.
