Several very private campsites in heavily forested area. Some campsites are near to the Fraser River. The campsites are spaced apart along 4x4 suitable roads. Many of the sites included a fire pit.
The site we selected had some distant noise from the highway but it was barely noticeable. It was next to a trail that led to a small sandy beach area with a small protected cove for swimming. There is also a swing! The surrounding forest is very beautiful and the trail to the beach is on a high bank that offers clear views of the Fraser River.
In early August, the mosquitoes were not great, but much better than other nearby overland sites.
Access: You can access these sites from an unmarked 4x4 road leading off the west side of the Southern Yellowhead Hwy directly before crossing the Fraser River if driving northbound. We recommend a vehicle with good ground clearance as the road is rutted in places.
We didn’t see any signs for no camping, but please check before entering.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Easy dirt track before the bridge on Blackman rd. Only 1 other camper here. Mosquitoes aren’t nice. Road is rutted and muddy in sections. Easy enough for a Subaru though
Report Check-InI accessed the area from the west (Blackman Rd). There was a bit of road noise where I stayed. Easy access to the riverside trails. Lots of firewood.
