Do it discreetly. Security told me at 11pm that I can't sleep here. He said the cops usually patrol once or twice per night and he didn't know if they'd say anything or not. He was nice. I left.

I got a knock from Marina security after I took over 30 mins to pic a spot, the first one back by the dog park was noisy with boat equipment knocking around in the wind than I didn't want to be too close to what seemed to be other can dwellers moved again. After I finally picked a spot I pulled out my folding mattress I have in my rooftop cargo bag which takes shuffling a few things between my SUV & the cargo bag. Put up reflectix & was about to call it a night & security rolls up with yellow flash lights & a flashlight & said this isn't for peo to be "dwelling in their cars & leaving their car on idle all night people leave their boats here & the parking is for only people actually using the marina.
After telling him I'm just out hoping to see the Northern Lights he instructed me to move onto the city street behind a can that had been parked for awhile.
Ok so I took my reflectix down & moved. Pulled my dog out for our last walk of the night & put the reflectix back up & chatted said goodnight to a friend for about 15 mins. He came back around no lights on not even headlights. turned around up at the end of the street, stopped & just sat for a second up the street a little & drove by me again. I could hear hos pos car it's not like he was being stealth with no lights on. Pretty creepy. If I hadn't had my GSD with me I would have left. I left by sunrise in the morning & won't be back. this was after driving 30 mins from the state park a little south & some locals showed up with a rifle that didn't look right in the head. I'm waiting on a car part that was ordered to come in & I'm out of this god forsaken state.

Nice and quiet in the wintertime, especially if you park around the corner in Cabana Lane.

We stayed here for about 6hrs before hopping on the 0530 ferry. Perfect spot for it. Quiet, no cars passing by. No one really around at all while we were there. Right by more commercial area so not a lot of people around at night.

As described, quiet place with a beautiful sunset. Stayed one night and felt safe.

We stayed two nights here and had no problems. Pretty full though, not a lot of parking. Washington Park nearby is a nice place with bathroom/shower/dump station/picnic tables.

Yes, the parking is still there but post-pandemic it's very crowded and there was a lot of car activity until very late - seemed to be people looking for spots and then turning around. Decent place to stay but definitely not the quiet that is described by the other entries.

1.5 miles to the ferry terminal. Sections of the route don't have sideways so it makes for an "interesting" walk. Quiet overnight.

Great spot in Anacortes! Very quiet except for the occasional sea gull squawk. We parked here and utilized the full 72 hour limit without issues. Beautiful sunsets right over the water. Fairly clean - saw very little trash. Just over a mile walk to the ferry if you choose to leave your vehicle here rather than take to the islands. 10/10

72 hour parking along many adjacent streets as well. Quiet and great for a night.

72 hour limit street parking not far from the Anacortes ferry terminal. Stayed a night before hopping on the ferry. Nothing special but a free quiet place to rest
