Beautiful place for one small rig with a nice view on Athabaska river and the Rocky Mountains with a fire place et very quiet.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
tons of different spots here suitable for all kinds of rigs, tents etc. I wouldn't go too far past the cattle gate if you have a trailer though. Extremely windy if you camp right off the road overlooking the river and bridge. Great views, lots of people seemed to be coming through and making use of the area. There is a natural spring water tap located q short drive from here which is also marked on the app.
Report Check-InCAREFUL DRIVING ANY FARTHER THAN THIS SPOT!! I was aiming for the listed camp spots farther east along this road, but there were numerous deep mud pits and I eventually got stuck. Got out, turned around, and came back to this spot. I found a flat spot on the upper area just south of the road. It is almost midnight and I hear some bass from music, but that's not really the campsite's fault.
Report Check-InThere are several spots up along this road, some more and some less private, all reallyclose to the road. Amazing views over the river.
Report Check-InBeautiful spot above the Athabasca River. Easy to find. I didn't drive down to the lower spot, though I probably could have. I found a flat spot in the upper area. Lots of traffic through the day, but very quiet in the evening/night.
Stayed here for a week. Good cell signal, strong Starlink connnection. There was garbage everywhere when I showed up, seems to be a party spot for locals.
I removed every single tiny shred of garbage within a 100m radius around this beautiful site (3 garbage bags, some old wiring, discarded propane tanks, car parts, etc) please keep it clean! It seems to be mostly mess left by locals (definitely some camper garbage too), but you know that if it comes down to it it will be the campers that are banned from this area if the garbage continues. Please be respectful.
Great spot, with an awesome view on the ridge of the river and mountains. Definitely pull into the lower area as the dirt road is busier than expected. I was fine getting in/out in my 2WD Ford Transit Connect
Report Check-InGreat vibes and views! We stopped in the last pull out right before the gate and it connects directly to the trails.
Report Check-Inas described, pretty normal spot, maybe a bit hard to find a flat spot, but it was alright :)
view of the river and the train that's passing by every now and then
Beautiful quiet spot with view on the river and the mountains. Easy gravel road access. Cars come into the roundabout on occasion so we found it more secluded to park on the level lower, as suggested by others. It's not really flat but good enough. There are some trails to explore; my dogs had fun!
Report Check-InNice little turn around, definitely can’t go down to the described spot in the winter but was nice and quiet here :)
Report Check-InNice easy access with fire pit. Hard to find a level spot. Beautiful view.
Report Check-InThis is a lovely spot in the public land use zone. We parked on the roundabout but there is a lower section right next to it with a fire pit. Nice and clean and very quiet. We heard the train a couple times but it was far enough away to not be a problem.
Report Check-InNice spot with a fire rig. Nice view and quiet. There’s a small path down to the spot. We were two cars last night, and another one came at night but couldn’t find the place in the dark so they set up their tent a bit higher. I recommend it BUT please pick up your trash behind you if you don’t want this place to shut down!!
Report Check-InBeautiful place for un small rig with a nice view on Athabaska river and the Rocky Mountains with a fire place et very quiet.
