Something not right?

Description

An extremely expansive beach front with free camping. Many off-road outlets off the main highway to access it. Great for RVS, vans, tents, rigs etc.

Absolutely massive with seemingly endless spots

Beautiful view but the lake is very muddy, so not good for swimming.

Latest Check-Ins

River was very low, not anything like shown on maps. Camped in our roof top tent. Beautiful scenery. Woke up surrounded by hundreds of sheep.

Report Check-In

Lots of space for many rigs. Roads coming in was good a few ruts but just drives around and our rig has low clearance. The grass is very long so hard to see the ground for your spot. Not very level but ok with blocks under wheels. We were only one night. As others have said the water is very mucky/ murky at the beach. You have to go out about 10 feet to get clear water. Great free site, would recommend.

Beautiful views of the lake. Definitely get there when it’s still light out because finding the dirt path down was tricky, saw some RVs so was able to find the spot. The mosquitoes were the most intense I’ve ever seen in my life. But you’re camping on a bunch of tall overgrown grass next to the water so I expected it just not to be that bad. Tons of fireworks going off for the holiday which was not fun for the pup. Pretty sure there was a gravel lot I passed which I should have stayed at because it was too overgrown to hang outside.

Absolutely loved my one night here! If you have 2WD/low clearance, I recommend driving the path directly across from the “Mile 402” marker, but most are *currently* reasonably maneuverable.

Agree with others. Fantastic spot and so much room to choose from. Dog had so much fun running on the beach. Didn't really hear the road at all.

Great spot. We actually just spent the day here on our SUPs and letting the dogs play in the lake. Other than some road noise would be a fantastic overnight spot. A couple bars with Verizon.

Report Check-In

we came in the next driveway because the entrances are all quite bumpy. camped on the grass behind some trees. reservoir was pretty empty at this point. beautiful views of the mountains and lots of space with barely anyone else here. can hear the road traffic all night.

Report Check-In

Road down to the beach is sketchy but of you can make it it's worth it. There is no water, just a dried lake bed but the spot is nice nestled in the aspens with open views. Lots of sites.

Report Check-In

This place is great - water is a little muddy but the kids certainly don’t care. Lots of sand and lots of grass. Several other people out here in tents/campers...feels secure!
