Description

Many spots on this short road. A couple of places on the north side of the street against the curb near Pelican parking lot. A couple in some sand on the south side of the street. Several at the west end of the street next to the Pelican showers.

Sand in some of the spots at the west end is a little deep, but should be pavement if you spin until you hit bottom.

One caveat to this street, Pelican owner is not a fan. He hasn't said anything directly to folks staying overnight, he hasn't involved police, it's not illegal, he just doesn't like it (some folks overheard him talking to staff).

West end spots against the logs look out over the ocean, amazing view of Haystack Rock (different from the Cannon Beach rock of the same name).

New sign that says “no camping or sleeping in vehicles

Great spot by the beach but it is pretty loud during the night. Was woken up several times. Parking is very limited only about 6-7 spots. You can’t park where this pin is but up closer to the surf shop there are spots.
This is a pretty posh area dinner is at least $20 in this area. And it’s $10 to park everywhere else but this spot. If you’re on a budget I would avoid this spot.

We drove though during the day for this spot and it's not friendly at all to parking. Folded signs are everywhere and said no parking at any time. Seems as though the locals are fed up with this location for overnight parking. Locals walked everywhere, and beach goers used the open areas to park. I would NOT recommend parking anywhere in Pacific City just head south to Lincoln or up north. I recommend only car campers at late night with no one around for 7 hours would be the best bet to get a spot here for some sleep. But, leave very early.

We parked at the most west spot (behind pelican, just to the left of the showers). It’s a wonderful spot, however the locals (and probably the surfing community) are pretty grumpy about vans being there. We got some dagger looks from some surfer looking people. There are no signs saying we can’t park there and there are other vans, cars, trucks etc. The guy that pulled up next to us told us “it’s for locals only and that they are in the process of putting up signs”. That may be true, but the signs aren’t up yet and it is still legal for anyone to park there. He proceeded to say it “wasn’t cool” we were there. We were already thinking of heading out for the day but that kind of sealed the deal. We took our time packing up and enjoying the spot before heading out and the guy tried to get all chummy asking what our dog’s name is and stuff. Super weird vibe.

Pacific City has been our favorite beach town for the last 8 years and we knew it before it started to get way too overcrowded, so we get it. If you’re going to this spot please be responsible, respectful, and kind even if the surfers and locals are rude. Hopefully it goes without saying but leave no trace and leave the spot better than you found it. It was a holiday weekend so we picked up a lot of trash people had left behind.

great spot we waited till people were heading out then grabbed a place at the end right by the beach entrance! gorgeous beach with cape kiwanda right there to explore at sunset. restrooms and dumpsters a short walk away attached to the large day use parking lot, saw water pumps there too. warm showers right next to the brewery. 10/10 for me. we stayed 2 nights, no signs posted and there were other people camping there as well. i will say that on the morning we were heading out there were 2 local men walking around kind of disgruntled and complaining loudly about people camping there, but its not illegal and 95% of the people we talked to were kind and welcoming :-) please keep the area clean so it stays open for all!

Great location, great view. a little loud until after dark. I am in a Prius and never got stuck in the sand.

Verizon service wasn't great - 1-2 bars if I was lucky. went to the nearby river spot in the morning and service there was excellent.
