Report Check-In

Felt kinda sketchy driving up since it’s just a road that goes behind a bunch of box stores, but it was actually very nice once we got settled! There was one other car camper on a Friday night (granted we’re fall camping), we stayed in the light but there are plenty of shadowy spots, LOTS of potholes, nice and close to the water for a great morning view :) like others have said, please be discreet and clean up after yourselves to allow others to enjoy this spot.

Report Check-In

Parking lot for nearby trail. A few other vehicles were also spending the night. Since it was Friday night, a group of people arrived to hang out and play music but they left around midnight.

Report Check-In

As described. Lots of traffic on the trail - bikers, walkers but very quiet and meets our need.

Report Check-In

like others have said - this is a gem of a spot for an overnight stay. Large gravel lot next to the bike path with plenty of parking, just be mindful of all the potholes when entering. signs state no beach access but there are several well established trails which go right to the beach for amazing sunset viewing. we also did laundry and food shopping while here as the parking lot is right behind a strip mall with various amenities. There is also a campground 0.4 miles north right off of the bike trail which has a bathroom with flush toilets and showers. please be respectful and keep and ensure not to overstay your welcome as we need to keep spots like this available - enjoy.

This place was great. There were a few others car camping and hanging out in the gazebo by the water, we said hi and they were friendly. Right on a popular walking/biking path so it felt very safe. About .5 mile to the state park / campground via a trail off the paved path. Just watch out for the potholes in the parking lot!

Nice, parking lot at Tannery trailhead, behind a grocery store and laundry. It is part of the NCT and is paved for miles. Dark and discreet, perfect for one night. Do not ruin it for others by staying a length of time. Be discreet so others can stay overnight.

Report Check-In

As described by others. Good place to spend one night, quiet and minimal traffic after dark. We’re in a converted sprinter van and had our door open to cook so not very stealth and we had no issue. Convenient to hit the grocery store in the morning too!

Report Check-In

As described! I stayed here in my van one night & it was a great, quiet, secluded spot. I even biked the paved path in the morning which was great as well! Would stay again!

this place was a gem. the lot was huge, lots of room for even big rigs. no signs in the lot about parking or anything. it's right on the trail which is paved, we went walking and boarding on the trail. super nice. there is a lot of traffic both through the lot and on the trail though so don't expect a lot of privacy. the back of a grocery store is up against the lot so you can walk there easily. there is beach access very close as well, where we went swimming. two notes about this place. 1, there were some seemingly homeless people here at the pavilion but they were not bothersome. and 2. there is a small trail on the left past the condos that leads to a campground with showers and flush toilets. theres no fee posted or any signs but I'm not sure it's meant for public access.

This was a great spot to sleep over after picnicking and watching July 4th fireworks in nearby Petoskey State Park. We parked by the grassy bluff separating the back of a Fresh Market store opposite paved trailway. plenty of room to walk the dog. One or two bars Verizon service. No signs indicating that overnight parking is prohibited. Peaceful place to overnight and sleep in vehicle.
