Great little spot!! You can hear the main road but it's not terribly loud and becomes pretty quite at night. Didn't seem to have T-mobile service. The place has a neat little history of you stop and read the placards near the road. Enjoy the howling coyotes and stunning night sky!

Report Check-InPlace is close to the road and a power line, which you can get both at night (not too much but also not totally quiet).
The ground is plastered with big rocks and not really suited for tent camping, it's better for a van or car. no big rigs as well.
If you don't have to stay here, go somewhere else.

Easy access up a two track from US 20 in 2wd extended Transit. Long open views and dark skies.
Report Check-InWe couldn’t stay at the windmill because we are a beast with 40’ rig and 25’ trailer. So walked further up the road and found a y that we could back up and set up here. Quiet and level spot although this time of year it’s cold and windy. No people!!! We are good to go for a couple of days and my dogs love running off leash in the wild! Be sure and walk the road if you come up this far there is a dip and it could get worse if it rains.
