despite of the no camping sign, the place doesn't seems to be monitored and we ended up staying there for the night with 6 other cars.
nice view on the ocean. we saw a seal and some porpoises in the evening
“No overnight camping” signs posted up here now. We decided to stay the night anyway and didn’t get bothered. Would suggest leaving early if you do decide to stay as there was a work site just further up the road.
Report Check-InReally lovely spot next to the water and lots of room for multiple cars. Only downside was that about 20 or 30 teenagers rocked up at 10pm with a bunch of pallets, had a massive bonfire and a loud party till 3am. They were pretty nice about it though, they moved as far away from us as they could. That being said, I think this might be a pretty popular hang out spot for locals, at least on a Friday night it is.
Report Check-InEast of Port McNeil. Large ocean shoreline parking area, with informal camp fire rings. Cell service. Beautiful views of Sointula and Alert Bay. No signs posted.
Report Check-InThanks to the submitter, spot came in very handy when we came back to avoid smoke from the US fires. Really calm beautiful waterfront spot, plenty of space for any size rig, even for a tent. You can watch the ferry go back and forth. A gem of a find, thanks submitters.
Report Check-InWe took Mine Road out of town and it turns to dirt. We followed it to the end and found an open area with some fire pits. There was the odd fisherman and a couple of dog walkers. Found a level spot and spent the night. Great view and you can walk onto the rocky beach. There's a very good LTE signal too. After spending another day in town doing laundry and on WiFi, we returned for a second night. (Both laundromat and library have gooD WiFi.)
