Something not right?

Description

We stayed here one night and treated ourselves to a small cabin for $12 (40 000s). The cabins look out over Sipi falls and has an amazing location. You do not have to put up with the bathrooms at Moses' place when you have this right next door. Bathrooms are clean, pit toilets and warm water as the town had no electricity during our stay. Beds are clean with mosquito nets. You can camp here. Monkeys in the camp. There is a restaurant and bar here. Tour guides are also around so they will take you if you ask. 20000s to camp pp. Friendly staff too.

camping is 25000ugx/pppn
not for trucks even small

The camp site is beautifully situated with views on Sipi falls. Price is now 25k ugx pppn. It's worthed. Guides to visit the falls can be arranged without hassle. We had Simon as a guide(+256 788320238) and can recommend him.

Report Check-In

camping is still the same, 20k ugx ppn
but if you ask that will include a free beer

Report Check-In

Maybe the campsite with the best view on the waterfalls. It's far away but you can see the whole big fall.
The site itself is a bit old. There is a bar close to the street which you can hear in the weekends but it's not really loud.

20.000 pppn, children half

They asked $25 per person for a 3 hour hike to the three falls. I think that should be $25 for one guide for all hikers.
When you drive to the falls there are many "guides" and I think you can enter the fake pretty easy.

Very basic camping - no hot water - Simple restaurant - Run down facilities- Noisy music in the village till 12.30 pm (Sunday evening) Nice views from the restaurant - Helpful and friendly owner

Report Check-In

We stayed two nights parked on a grassy terrace in the corner, which was nice. 20,000 pppn for camping. Prices for cabins were 60,000 for one room, two people, which seemed like a LOT considering the cabins are basically tiny rooms with corrugated tin and wood walls. They do have mosquito nets and were clean, but if you’re self sufficient in a vehicle it’s a pain to carry stuff from the parking lot down to the cabins.

PROS: Staff is very friendly and there are lots of activities if you want to pay for them. Bar overlooks the falls and has character, though the fridges weren’t working when we were there. Noise from the road isn’t a big deal. The campsites are shady which in the heat and sun is itself a nice change!

CONS: So much noise from the nearby club. On Christmas the music started at noon and didn’t end until 7am the next day. The club might as well have been in our tent it was so loud. We were exhausted for driving the next day. This is not the place for solitude.

We liked this place. Ablutions are basic but clean. We could camp in the lower section with our Landcruiser and rooftop tent. Just drive past the sharp steep hairpin and reverse into the camping and don’t try to take the turn in one go. Coffee tour with Simon our guide was nice, not the promised 3-4h, more like 2h. Don’t expect a big plantation, it’s a small village experience, which we also liked! Haggle for coffee in the shop at the end of the tour or buy somewhere else, we paid 15.000 for 500 grams grounded (30.000 asked, probably still too much). Prices have gone up. Paid 20.000 pp for camping, 30.000pp for the coffee tour.

Report Check-In

The place is ok but a bit run down.
In the night there was very loud music in the neighbourhood so we could barely sleep. They told us that's only on Sunday. Don't know if it's so cause we didn't stay an other night.
Don't walk on Sipi Hill (small hill behind crows nest) on your own. They will charge you 5'000 ugs pp. That's insane and way overpriced.
The coffee tour is interesting and worth to do.

nice campside, you can camp or sleep in a bungalow. great view at the 3rd (main) waterfall. very friendly staff, they offer breakfast, lunch and dinner (really tasty) and different tours around Sipi.

Report Check-In

nice views and campsite. staff is friendly. long drop toilets were not that clean. if you want a warm shower let them know 4-5hours in advance. didnt eat there - food and beer is expensive but you can go to the town for chipati + eggs (rollex) for ush1000 or a proper local, basic meal at one the small restaurants for ush5000. we did the hike to the 2 waterfalls (#1 and #2) and it was definitely worth the ush25 000p.
accommodation rates are still the same

Friendly but little bit pushi staff. Food is ok. Nice hot shower!

Perfect place in Sipi falls. You can also eat here local food for 10 000.

good campsite and the place has good views. no power the first night we were there. warm showers. 15,000ppn

For 15000 ush you get a stunning view over the falls and if you are travelling with a separate tent than you can pick a nice spot. But if you are dependant of a car than there is only one place to stand, down a very steep path with a corner so sharp that you have to drive backwards for one part. Some children may bother you from over the fence. Long drop toilets but with seats. Not bad. Didn't try the showers but they didn't look very nice. All in all it's worth the money but I wouldn't want to stay here for more than 1 night.

Report Check-In

Beautiful views from the cabins, oke food but warm beers as electricity is often off. We camped at the parking lot, was quite noisy with trucks parking here as well and arriving late, as well as security talking loud on speaker phone. Facilities are very basic.

Report Check-In

Terraced camping site. Good view to the lower falls. Hiking tours directly leave from the site. We recommend taking a coffee tour, where you will make your own coffee by hand, drink it and take some roasted beans away with you. Large vans may not be able to drive down the narrow path and may need to camp in the parking space. Terrible long drops and cold showers.

Report Check-In

Stunning views from the main fall. Good food all ranging from 6-10k. Camping is 15k with own tent. Double Cabin is 50k. Also arrange walking tours the longest 25k pp
