Arrived in dark, parked in front of the closed gate. Used blocks to level. Untill now quiet.
Report Check-InSet of pull off spots next to the road. Pretty crowded on Monday when I arrived - I imagine the weekends get real hectic here. Multiple short paths to a secluded beach area. Pretty quiet, has 4 bars Verizon & no T-mobile service. Saw a Sea Lion super cool little place to be.
Report Check-InStayed here since the park was full over Labor Day weekend. Lots of locals around in the evening but eventually died down. Nice and quiet. Fun to watch the seals play in the bay.
Report Check-InWe're a bit conflicted about camping here. It's Yurok land, and there are ceremonial grounds within eyesight of this location. I've seen mentions of these being tribal campgrounds (for use by the Yurok), and I think it's technically trespassing to camp here. We stayed for one night (in a tent), and didn't have any issues. But still, I don't think I'd recommend coming if you have other options.
Report Check-InShort walk to a beautiful secluded beach. Parking is a bit tight since it was busy and there is a slope as mentioned in previous posts though not terrible. Trash cans and porta-potties available.
Report Check-InA couple spots next to a small beach. Beautiful. Spots are a little uneven, but just like 1-3 degrees.
Report Check-InRVs and trailers NOT allowed to drive down this road per signage. Didn't make it to the destination.
Report Check-InWith a van this would be a great spot. Not tent friendly, we got sketched out about camping here because there is ceremonial grounds of the local native Americans in the grassy area. Lots of locals come here late at night and early in the morning, not quiet at all. Also there is a fire ring but it looks like it hasn’t been used in years. Lots of sea lions in the bay!
Report Check-InLovely place. The river outlet to the ocean has changed radically since the last Google Satellite image. The river runs parallel to the Southern coast before hitting the ocean which makes for a VERY cool hike. Plenty of flat space in the pull over for our 159in Promaster. Few cards passed between 7 and 10pm, but very quiet gem.
Report Check-InThis spot is great for an overnight. It’s a bit unlevel to park a van, but works. We parked right in front of the closed gate. There are trash cans nearby. Full Verizon service, no AT&T.
Report Check-InLittle pull offs in front of a closed road. No sinage whatsoever but multiple little dirt paths to beach where there are fire rings. I set up a tent, full Verizon service, quiet, and beautiful views. Sea lions swimming in bay. Signs posted saying blue green algae present in river, not to be used for bathing or cooking
