Description

Amazing Hot Springs. Just past the hot springs (coming from the north) there’s a small pullout where someone was tent camping at, though we didn’t explore the area. We stayed for the day and enjoyed the amazing hot spring. 1-2 bars LTE Verizon and 3-4 bars AT&T though with an external antenna.

overnight camping and hotsprings. stayed two nights. bumpy road in but worth it.

Great spot to dry camp. We were able to get our F350 with truck camper into the riverside sites. BLM post says 16 day limit for camping. You pass the Hot Springs on the road and can see them as you go by. Keep going past and you will find the two entrance roads as mentioned in previous posts. Opt for the 2nd 100%. See photos. A few mosquitos but not bad at all while we were here.

Pretty spot, make sure to take the second road into the campground - it's easier.

Walking distance to the hot springs - test the pools though some are too hot!

Prepare for mosquitoes in summer, there are a *ton*

The first and second entrances everyone talked about was extremely confusing. What they are reffering to is once you arrive at the campsite, there are two roads to access it, with the first one (coming from the north) being extremely difficult, and the second one only 100 yards ahead is not easy, but much easier.

such a beautiful campsite along the river. however, I wouldn't reccomend bringing a large trailer. I did it with my 20 foot trailer and it wasn't really enjoyable to make it out here. While it is doable, I wouldn't reccomend pulling a trailer at all unless you had a small trailer and a very capable truck or equivalent.

without a trailer, any Subaru or equivalent could make it out here no problem when dry, even though it's bumpy and rocky. I would not attempt this if it is wet in anything other than a capable off road vehicle, because I could easily see cars slipping. I had to leave in a rainstorm and everyrhing was caked in mud by the time I got back to the road.

one alternative is a half circle pullout about 1 mile north of the hot spring. that place is not specifically marked as a camping site like this is but it seems like a good place to set up. the road is lightly trafficked. there are a number of ranches along the road, up until the last section as you approach the springs.

I was surprised that it took me over 30 minutes to get here from I-90. last thing, the mosquitoes really are terrible. you open your door for a second and 20 get in

Fantastic natural hot springs. I parked on the shoulder (didn’t know about the wild camp until after I settled in) which is tight but manageable. Almost no traffic at night and no one bothered me. Most non-campers park along the road.

There’s a long, wide, and mostly flat pullout just a bit north of the springs with incredible panoramic views towards the west that would make a great wild camp too if main spot is busy/full/loud.

Arrived here on a Saturday afternoon - the pools were full with locals, but the camping area (a bit further south) was vacant. We took the spot furthest from the entrances. Unfortunately, a group of party animals took the other spot and made noise into the night. On Sunday, we soaked in one of the pools until our bodies were warm enough to no longer feel the cold (8°C/46F) morning air. The whole site doesn't get sunlight until 9:30 (in september).

PLEASE take the 2nd entrance unless you have HIGH CLEARANCE!!! The 1st entrance is VERY BAD!! This was a great place for really hot sulfery springs!! the pools are near to the pull outs along the road. there's a man made round pool, that's the entrance. if that pool is empty, GO ANYWAY! there's a few more pools besides that one. have a BLAST and PLEASE leave it better than when you find it

Lots of wildlife around. Saw 3 huge owls and nearly ran over a rattlesnake, thankfully it passed under the van unscathed. As mentioned before, two paths to go down to the same area, one of them being really bumpy. Take the smoother route down. Got to the site at sundown and there was 1 other van parked at the location. MOSQUITO HAVEN. Even if you opened the door to get out for a second, a ton of them fly right in. Unfortunately they were bad enough for us to leave the spot. Very beautiful but beware of the bloodsuckers during the summer time.

Few rough spots to camp. It’s really nice. Springs were crowded with locals, all super friendly, but this is the type of place that gets shut down if it’s not respected. Enjoy, leave it better than you found it.

Perfect spot on the river with great cell service. You do have to drive 5 miles down a dirt road to get there, but it is pretty well maintained. It would not be fun in the rain/mud. Kudos to the person that said take the second road down to the river. The first is definitely a roller coaster. Once you get to the marked location, pass the first entrance and a stone’s through away is the second entrance to the loop. We watched some fly fisherman cruise down the river and one other family came to fish but left before dark. A couple of deer crossed the river as well. Another van drove in and stayed overnight. We did not do the short walk to the hot spring, but saw another couple coming back from there. It was lovely listening to the river lull us to sleep. The five mile drive down the dirt road was worth it.

Pull around with room for several vans. One private spot and then a loop that can be parked around, walking distance to the hot springs. Kirk, a local that takes care of the springs, regularly stops by the grounds to talk to travelers. Right next to the river and a great spot for fishing. Had 1 bar LTE on T-Mobile which was enough for me to work. Stayed a couple days. Lovely spot, not much traffic on the dirt road. Recommend entering through the second road, the first one is super worn and 4 wheel drive appropriate. The second is much less aggressive. Hot springs is popular with the locals.

Good spot right next to the river. 5 cars/RTTs on a Thursday night. Didn’t notice any fire rings. Was pretty Quiet and close to Renova hot springs. Mosquitos were rough, but great to hear the water as you fall asleep. Free! 3 bars ATT LTE.

not many places to park but some good level spots off the side of the road - just go past the gps tag and keep following the road. absolutely gorgeous sunset over the mountains and lots of waterfowl near the river. some traffic from ranch houses further up the road but everyone i saw was friendly. 7/5 would stay again.
