Something not right?

Description

FR0082 starts off nice and groomed but hits a chunky hill just before this camp. The location of this pin will require high clearance, but there were a dozen other spots before the rough patch. The road continues, and seems to be rather smooth, though it's not shown on google maps. I saw at least one more site before turning back to this one. There's a good size grassy clearing behind it that would likely be good for some tents.

I drive a 2WD extended van with some off road tires. If the rocks scare you, stay down the hill. I had no problems but I do this sort of thing all the time.

do NOT attempt rhis if you're not 4x4. we have a 24ft rv and my husband is a great driver, but this road is very tight and steep, rocky in some parts, rutted and soft in some areas. we made it somewhat here and ended up turning around. you need high clearance and 4wd for these spots. the reception was 1-2 bars mint t mobile so it wasn't even worth us staying since we both work remote. there are also residences ND houses close by so that's not fun either. we ended up leaving but the forest is beautiful.

Definitely not for the faint of heart.
I do not suggest this site for a bigger Van/RV.
I disperse camp exclusively. I have a 4x4/HC Sprinter with an upgraded off-road suspension and KO2’s which gives me additional clearance room and for the first time ever, I heard a scrape. The rocks are basically mini-boulders stuck in the ground and are in the middle of the road. The tire tracks are also deeply rutted.
There is a drop-off to your right as you continue going uphill towards this location. Being 11’5” high and with the winds, it was not a fun time trying to avoid the deep tire tracks while driving over the rocks while being so close to the edge and potentially tipping over.
I continued on to get to the campsite because there was nowhere to turn around without damaging the land or falling/dying.
There are 4 rocky areas that are nasty. This is not worth the drive. So many dead & downed trees.
It’s definitely secluded, and probably very pretty in the early fall!
I would stick with the spots closer to the beginning of the road but as another post on here said, it’s close to two private residences.
