Free dispersed camping along the road to Twin Lakes. Several sites with fire rings along the way. Quiet and each site is blocked by Aspens, so it feels private. Even have 4 bars LTE T-Mobile.

The road is closed due to fire activity. I believe the forest service is performing controlled burns. The ranger said this area will be closed off for at least another week.
Report Check-InGreat area to camp. couple spots you can get on the river. always taken though. full bars of 5G Verizon. also camping on up the road in a huge parking lot. astounding views. no amenities. please take your trash home with you.
Report Check-InA number of dispersed campsites, not too crowded on a June Sunday. Unfortunately, the road is currently potholed, and when we arrived I judged it too difficult to navigate with our low-clearance van. However, there is continental divide trailhead parking at the entrance to the area, and we were able to stay a night there. Strong Verizon signal. We had persistent rain in the afternoon/evening, giving way to a glorious sunny morning with killer views of Mt Elbert through peaceful groves of young aspens.
Report Check-InVery cool spot. Also very crowded even in a weekday during summer.
Report Check-InNice area with lots of pull outs. Popular but plenty of room to spare. Great T-Mobile reception which I use for work. Road is rough but doable with rear wheel drive in my van conversion so long as roads are dry
Report Check-InTotally loving this place and the views outside my home on wheels! living Rocky Mountain High right now!!!
Report Check-InStayed “next door” to this spot.
Very quiet this time of year during the week. Can only imagine how busy it must be during the summer. The lakes are absolutely breathtaking!
We camped here for the shelter of the trees (very windy- make sure you check the forecast for wind) and are really glad we did. It helped a lot.
Walking distance to trailheads and the lake. More wild camping spots around here.
Fire pits. (Fire ban right now.) Shaded.
Great AT&T reception.
