Tried to go tonight, but the Access from 1a is gated and locked. Tried to go up Dales Way instead, but even though the gate was open, it had numerous unfriendly keep out signs

GATES CLOSED. NO ACCESS AVAIL.
Showed up here at 10pm to find gates with a lock.

Nice and quiet, but lots of ticks on our dogs. Big rigs shouldn't try the road unless you plan on going all the way through, just stay at the first open area.

Good location. We arrived after dark and pulled into the first opening we saw without getting to the coordinates provided but nobody bothered us. Our spot was close to the road so you get some of that noise but it’s relatively quiet.

The night sky alone is worth staying here!

Forest access road with long dirt gravel path. Lots of places to pull off - not one car passes us. FYI we thought we were originally on the way to Branch public Forest trail but ended up on the other side of 1A..
