Great spot! Last 2.5 miles were wash-board gravel road so we took it slow driving our 20’ class B. Stayed at the upper camp site location, overlooking the valley below. Beautiful scenery. Was a tad windy to start but not bothersome at the time, it could be worse there with the lack of environmental coverage. One decently fair pit toilet 200 m from the camp site. Would have been great to drive a 4X4 vehicle down below if only we had our jeep with us. Had the campsite to ourselves but there was minimal evening traffic passing by. Would definitely recommend!

A beautiful spot after a very bumpy/washboard road to get here. Wonderful small canyon nearby. Many trees & good views. Fairly spacious sites w/fire pits & tables.

9 miles off the main road. A bit further than I expected But as other shared, it's very nice actually a place you would enjoy camping for more than just an overnighter. sites are spread out and many have great views. Relaxing and enjoyable. Most of sites have picnic table and fire rings but I see down the hill there's some more primitive sites with rock fire rings and that's it. Caution, if you go down the hill and it rains it looks like you would stay down there until it dried up. decent Verizon service, seems not as good below the hill

Lovely place! It’s about 8miles of well maintained gravel roads to get here from the north but we’ll worth it. Clean, quiet, a few other campers, most of the sites are fairly level — a little bit shade.

Stunning views are here and this hidden gem north of Billings! Vault toilet in the parking lot. Plenty of dispersed, camping accessible to vehicles. We were totally blown away! Will be back. Note: people and always clean up after themselves here, so expect some scattered food, toilet paper, signs of human ignorance.

Great spot just north of Billings. Good Verizon reception. Nice clean well maintained pit toilet in the parking area. Continue past the parking area to find about five campsites.

As described a sublime camping point. Extremely quiet but out of the way. Pit toilet available at parking.

fantastic campground with pits and vault toilets, trails and mountain biking. arrived after dark and found a spot. I assume it fills up sooner during peak times. long bumpy dirt road to get there.

Easy to get to. Super friendly cows next to us. Very windy

Beautiful views, picnic tables, fire pit, easy to get to, quick drive from billings, 2 bars AT&T service, quiet, totally worth the trip, great place to camp

Fantastic place it’s on my list of places to come back to. 4x4 gets you back to the fun spaces but even at the beginning lots of spots and great views. Bring a mountain bike, the trails are awesome. Spent three nights, was tempted to stay longer but need to move on.

Stayed a few days. Somewhat reliable ATT signal. Good mtn biking. Was busy over weekend with some bike race but now that they’ve cleared out looks like me, a couple that may be here more long term, and then there’s some local traffic that comes through, sometimes late. Go past the pavilion for the best sites. Where the road turns to dirt and drops down looks intimidating but isn’t…locals in 2WD are driving it. There are some very exposed but otherwise nice sites down in the valley. Wouldn’t attempt them in wet weather tho unless you’re experienced with the muddy clay out here.

Love this campsite. Ample room, gorgeous views, nice, level spots for any size rig. 10/10 - if you’re in the area, make the trek out, it’s worth it.

Acton Recreational Area, managed by BLM. 3,800 acres total with 6.6 miles of maintained gravel roads to explore. Seems to be a popular local mountain biking spot. 2 dedicated RV camping areas. One at the entrance and another maybe 0.5 mile down the road. Maybe 10 spots total?? 100% FREE. There were 2 RVs parked further down the road under some trees, not in the dedicated area. They were the only people here, along with a couple mountain bikers and a guy with a quad in the back of his pickup that just pulled up. My spot is right on the edge of a very steep cliff and overlooks a deep canyon with bluffs in the distance covered with scattered ponderosa pine trees. Pics don't do it justice, it's gorgeous.

This area is 9 miles off Route 3, which you take out of Billings. First 6.5 miles of road are paved or very good gravel roads. When you make the turn in for the last 2.5 miles, the road gets worse with some really nasty washboard that will knock your fillings out.... so take it easy Mario. Each site has a picnic table and a fire 🔥 ring. Burn ban is in full effect. There is a vault toilet 🚻 at the entrance. There may be some trash cans too, I think I saw.... but no other services. Surprisingly, there are 17 OTA TV stations. VZW is SLOW. 1.8 mbps down/ 0.5 up. ATT is a bit better.... 9.6 mbps down/1.6 up. ****Update**** night/morning/off peak VWZ is pulling 12 mbps down/3 up. stayed here 5 nights.

great location with many spots. with cell booster Verizon, ATT and TMobile we're great!

Long gravel road (6-10 miles depending on which direction you come from) leading to Acton Recreation Area. Solid and no problem in our 29’C. Several level RV sites within the recreation area. We chose the last site to the right (before the road turned a bit more rough). It was fantastic. Views for days. Lots of trees. Great breeze. Picnic tables & fire pits (although it’s a bit too dry for a fire right now). A few nice hiking trails also. Looks like it could be a party spot from time to time given the amount of cans & bottles thrown about. Judging by their choice of alcohol, I’d say they’re teens. I filled a garbage bag and could’ve picked up more if I had time. It was quiet and beautiful while we were there and I totally recommend.

Great spot north of Billings. Last few miles of access road is pretty washed out so keep it around 15mph. Initial ring of campsites with picnic tables and fire rings. If you’re looking for something a little more secluded there are a few dispersed sites available down the way passed those with great views of the canyon.

It's a beautiful area and at present it appears I'm alone here although I couldn't drive in very far past the entrance. Gravel ends and the road turns into what looks like an ohv area, definitely not for RVs although a truck pulling a popup went down it. So there are basically nice 4-5 sites RV sites shortly after the entrance, tables and fire pits and I think I passed a pit toilet. The views up here are amazing but for me, not worth the 7-9 miles of bad washboard gravel road in a skoolie. Also concerned about the dust if/when ohvs show up. Oh and it says no target shooting which is a BIG plus in my book. Also has a great Verizon signal.

Great place to camp. Decent Verizon service roads were stone and solid getting back here with 29’C
