Latest Check-Ins

We stayed here last night . At 12:30 am police knocked on our door. Said someone has reported gun shots in area and asked if we had heard anything . Said no, then officer told us overnight parking was not allowed at trailheads. I told her I didn’t think was a problem because there weren’t any no parking signs posted . She said didn’t matter because it is not allowed. She said she assumed we were only sleeping overnight there, and that we could stay the night , but have to leave in morning . We left at 6:30am. Signs may be placed there soon I would expect .

Report Check-In

Got the knock! Pulled in around 6:30pm and had a sunset hike with the doggo. Was a little nervous bc it’s only my 2nd night of vanlife. Other vehicles left after sunset except one work van. Finally around 10pm decided it was safe and quiet and fell asleep. 10:45 got the knock from the Sheriffs dept saying they patrol on behalf of the forestry service and you aren’t allowed to park within half mile of any trailhead. He ran a background check on my drivers license and let me off with a warning and no ticket. Very nice and non-threatening officer but no fun for this brand new vanlifer. 😔

Report Check-In

Perfect for parents of UNR students. We’re in a 20’ Revel.

Report Check-In

A few other vans in the lot, but a quiet overnight. Got busy in the morning with hikers and mountain bikers.

Report Check-In

This is our second stay here (see previous comment). It was so convenient when dropping our son at UNR (3 miles away), so quiet, and so good for dogs that we came back.

Report Check-In

As previously stated, it is the parking lot at the beginning of East Keystone Trail. We were on our maiden voyage in our Revel and it was perfect. You can park facing away from all light while overlooking a beautiful canyon. Though leashes are probably required, we could let the dogs run because there was no one else here.

There is a trashcan and porta-potty at the trailhead 50 feet away. No one else was here when we arrived at 8 PM.
