Something not right?

Description

Camp sites are on the west side of the lake. There are vault toilets. No designated camp sites. Large grassy area with trees and some fire pits. People do use the road alongside the area so there is a bit of traffic, but overall very quiet. Free! Can be a party/cruising spot on weekends.

Latest Check-Ins

It became a serious party and cruising spot on Saturday night after dark. There were two parties with fires, really load thumping music and the usual revving of engines etc. I ended up leaving. Friday night wasn't too bad. Weeknights were good. 2 bars Verizon

Report Check-In

Beautiful spot with several sites spaced widely apart. Clean vault toilet open 24/7. Peaceful, safe, and quiet. The road in was easy to drive with minimal potholes. Did not notice any insects aside from a few mosquitos at dusk. No connectivity. Would definitely stay here again.

GPS might try to take you around, signs say road is closed for thru traffic but it’s not. Locals drive thru all the time. No signs entering saying campground closed. Only found parking spots near Parallel Rd. Stayed for 3 days on the weekend. People mostly just fishing. Moths are BAD during the day. Only had 1 bar Verizon.

Great place for a night or expended stay! I was here when all the leaves were changing so the drive in was beautiful. Beware of some potholes on the way in

Report Check-In

Stayed a couple nights here June 5-7. Couple long term campers when we arrived they were set up with a pop up camper and a RV. Trash everywhere. We picked a cleaner spot with a decent fire pit ring just NW of the brick shelter on the west end of the lake. Plenty of tree shelter. During the day the bugs were ok, at night is when everything came out, heavy moths, spiders and ants. Bring repellent. Lots of traffic on the nearby road that goes around the south end of the lake. Sunday afternoon a sheriff and DNR truck strolled through the campgrounds, didn’t stop. Monday morning at 4:45am we were woken by 6 consecutive rifle shots, followed by a car speeding through the campgrounds then blaring their horn constantly on the SE end of the lake shortly followed by a domestic argument from where the car was. Probably will never stay here again.
