Wanted to sleep here a guy told us that we can‘t. After that we drove to the city and parked just next to the informationcenter. Was no problem. When we left el chalten we saw that are many vans parked right before the entrance. Seemed like its toloradet there.

Report Check-In

————-

It is forbidden to land here or in any place in the city now. There is no sign showing any prohibition but the guards kindly came to dislodge us, as well as other vans present on the spot. Now the only authorized place for vans is the parking lot in front of the visitor information center.

Park ranger comes by in the evening and ask everyone to go to the official spot at the beginning of town.

Slept here for one night with a bunch of other vans. The next evening the rangers came and said friendly that it is not allowed here.

Pet owners: this is the place to come. Dogs allowed. Many locals in the afternoon with dogs off leash but friendly. They can swim in the river and on the other shore. We spent two night here. Very wind expose from north winds. Quiet.

Report Check-In

Spot near by the river and close to downtown. Windy spot but quiet with few people, allowed to park the van. We stayed two nights without any problems.

I spend one night here in a TENT, despite isn't allowed to camp, nobody bother me. It look safe, quiet and near of the city. I put my tent in a irregular grass place between the trees protected from the wind.

Report Check-In

Nothing special but close to town (if you maybe wanna go for a beer to one of the many nearby pubs or use the laundry on next street). no wind protection - can be rough

Report Check-In

We spent a quiet night there in our van without seeing anyone. Can be very windy!

Report Check-In

We spent here one night, having entered the gravel area from the side of the bridge. If you enter from the other side, you'll find a 'no camping' sign. We did notice a car with blue flashing lights make a circle on the gravel area that night, but no-one bothered us (we sleep inside a suv). Ymmv.

Report Check-In

Arrived end of the afternoon when it was sunny at not very windy, beautiful spot (left of the bridge). Better than at the campsites in town. During the night wind started to blew really hard, no shelter. With our 4x4 camper not really a problem but very shakey and a rough night. Rain started in the morning and it got less windy. If good weather definately a good spot, if looking for a quiet night when windy probably better to head out to a more sheltered place.

A large gravel area at the Río de las Vueltas. Rather exposed to the wind and not the most beautiful. We preferred the parking area for motorhomes at the entrance of El Chaltén.

Beautiful place near the river. Very good for stay by night. we can sleep with the river's sound.

Quiet, near town. Good, if you have a RV with your own facilities.

As described. Places on either side of the river. I went right and tucked back in the far corner facing up river. No one else there. No facilities. Close to town.

Was ok, few kids around on a beach night-no hassle. Toilets in information during the day.

not bad but pretty visible from the road (which isn't frequented by cars but a number of people cross the bridge). we tucked our car in a far corner away from the road. quiet at night and amazing night sky view on a clear night!
