This is no place for overlanders. Its a hostel with a tiny parking lot. They have glamoing but i do t see where you could camp or set up. Should camp at paradise point.

Report Check-In

Sweet place with a pool, tents ro camp in, communal kitchen . Small parking lot. Now $15 per person. Not great for van or rooftop camping, you would be in a small parking lot.

Report Check-In

Nice, secure and very clean place with a big open kitchen and common area. Space for about 6 rigs. They do have a pool since 6 months. The owners are amazing. 10$ pp/night.

Report Check-In

We drove by on Oct 6 2021 and the hostel was closed. A note on the door said it will reopen on Oct 18th. We instead went to Tamarindo Backpackers hostel nearby, they wouldn’t let us camp as their parking is shared with neighbors but they allowed us to stay in their lovely hostel for $10 Per person (same as camping) they were really welcoming and friendly.

Nice spot !
10$ per person to camp on the parking lot with our roof tent. It’s worth it if you want a safe spot in tamarindo, there is a kitchen, showers, bathroom, and a nice « lounge » with hammocks, tables and a pool that you share with others.
Nice and safe place with a gate that closes at 10PM but you can enter later with a code. Owned by an Italian, we met a lot of friendly people, you can ask tips to have discounts on surf lessons.

Report Check-In

First 30USD per car, negotiatet to 25USD. So we left to an other place.

Report Check-In

Very nice place. Several volunteers now in low season here to make the place even better.
Low season price is 6 USD pp. We got a fair family rate.
Stayed for 5 nights.

Report Check-In

Low season price is $6 ppn for camping - until 1. November.
Weekly rate is $36 pp.
Otherwise as described below.
Camped in the car park and had a few quite nights, occasional visit from a friendly raccoon. Space for 3-4 Vans.
Absolutely okay place to stay in Tamarindo. Clean bathrooms. Safe.
You can explore everything by foot.
Stayed a couple of days.

Report Check-In

It’s all what you need for to spend some time in beautiful Tamarindo. Water, electricity, bathroom and a place to put your tent. Will definitely come back.

Report Check-In

Stayed two days here as we explored around Tamarindo. Although it is quite developed we really liked the town and the beach! 8usd pp to stay in our van. 10 pp for a bunk bed with ac. Very well equipped communal kitchen. Overall a really great place. If you can do a day trip to playa Avallenas beech. Super nice!

Report Check-In

Nice campground in Tamarindo. Actually the only one available that can fit my 23 feet motorhome at the parking area. Good kitchen and social area, clean and spacious bathrooms. Well located 5 minutes walk to the main downtown road. The owner Russ, a Canadian guy, is very friendly and ready to help.
I highly recommend!

Report Check-In

We park our van and slept in it for a few nights. Everything we needed. Bathrooms, showers, wifi and electricity connect to our van. 8$/pppn. Super happy with this place.

Report Check-In

Decent place as every one else has said. Seems to be the only established camping (that I could find) in Tamarindo. However we were charged $20 USD to park for one night/two people.

Report Check-In

New managers are super cool... the place has a great chilled vibe and it's far enough away from the noise but close enough to easily walk into the centre of town. A delivery laundry service can be arranged from reception as well as tours and surf packages. They gave us some awesome tips for places to visit too... Recommended if you're staying in Tamarindo

Report Check-In

This place is under new management since July 2018. Very spacious and clean. 5 min walk to beach and grocery stores (including organic at great prices). This place now mostly sells surf packages. Price is $7 USD per night or less if you stay by the week or month.

Report Check-In

It is not possible to sleep here for one or two nights. You can stay on this place weekly or monthly.

Report Check-In

Decent camping. Decent bathrooms. Little crowded with families. Good kitchen good WiFi. Great nightly fish bbq!

Report Check-In

Not great camping for RVs. Very tight parking lot. Although for tenting is ok. Not very close to the beach either. It’s a compromise if you really want to stay in Tamarindo.

Report Check-In

Clean, mellow and specious. Enough parking for 4 rigs. Walking distance to everything.

Report Check-In

I have to be honest to say I was quite disappointed in this spot... pics & reviews make it sound/look big but in fact it’s super small. It’s inland so you’re a walk from beach, shops, etc. If you RV or truck camp, you basically camp in the parking lot. 4 cars fit, 3 if you have a roof tent that extends to the side like mine. There’s security at night which is awesome but the guards hang out in the parking lot all night talking, opening & closing gates. Needless to say I did not sleep. It’s good if you need a safe place to sleep, shower & stock up... there’s other on-the-beach spots nearby that I’d rather drive to!

Report Check-In

Good hostel / campsite, also OK for SUVs and smaller RVs. Power is not at sites but, with an extension this can be solved. Friendly Italien manager, walking to beach, clean washrooms and kitchen facilities.

Report Check-In

About 5 or 6 spots for cars/vans, plenty of tent space. Big kitchen and chill out space. Shower/toilet and wifi is good too. Overall good experience! Walking distance to the beach :)

Report Check-In

Actually the kitchen/common area is very big with 8 stoves and 2 sinks ;-) There is also a big fridge to put your stuff in. Matteo, the italian owner is very nice and friendly. We had have bbq with all guests of the campsite/hostel. There are dorms as well. WiFi works perfect, Showers are cold, place is close to town and the beach. Stayed here two nights and maybe come back for some more...5 USD p.P.p.N.

Report Check-In

We were pleased to see how close this place is to town and the beach. Easy 5 min walk to all amenities. Secure camping, gate is closed at 10PM.
Large bathroom with multiple stalls, and showers. We hooked up to electric, water available, good wifi, and small kitchen, common area, for $5/person/ night. Great pricing for location, Costa Rica, and amenities!

Level gravel parking, some shade, room for 3 - 4 vehicles. Entrance with no height restrictions.
Recommended stay for Tamarindo

Report Check-In

Camping on parking lot. Tent camping possible, too. We stayed here as our van had some mechanical issues. There's a new manager on site now. His name is Matteo and he's an Italian sunshine. He had been there only three weeks before but was so nice and helped us with everything. He's going to be in charge of the place for at least another year and we would love if people would get to know him. The place is safe, super calm and a very short walk to town and beaches. There are five toilets and showers and a big common kitchen with tables and hammocks. They sell beer for 1$. We payed 5$ pp per night.

Report Check-In

Great place to camp. Easy to find and away from all the hustle, bustle and noise.

Report Check-In

The place is suitable for tents and small camper vans. The overall vibe is
Unpleasant. The owner is rude and unkind and unwelcoming.

Report Check-In

$8 per person/night, tent camping in a lot, small kitchen, showers, toilets, hammocks & electricity. Some trees, very close to town, 7min walk to grocery store.
