South Africa
A perfect little spot along the Orange River! Grassy field with clean ablutions, trees for shade and lots of spots where you can make a private little camp for yourself.
Bar and restaurant that sells wood and ice.
We were meant to stay only 1 night but stayed 4!
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Bad experience, the lady at the reception wasn't welcoming at all. We booked but the last campsite available wasn't in the shade and the electricity plug very far (our 10 m extension wasn't enough). We asked for an extension they did not had. They decided to refund instead of trying to find a solution together. No commercial skills at all! It's the first campsite we did not felt welcome 🤷🏼♀️
We decided to go 22 km further till Ikaia river resort and for the same price we got much more, better view on the river, real separation between the campsites and private ablution.
Fantastic place right on the Gariep. Reception closed and resturant closed Monday but we could still set up camp. arranged by mobile. highly recommended. ask for pensioner discount.
Report Check-InBeautifull green stands next to river, lights, elec & braai, lots of shade. Friendly staff, swimming pool a pleasure @ 38 degrees, bar. Ablutions were spotless. wifi available but cellphone signal strong, didn't need it. R175 pppn. Highly recommended after checking some other places closer to town.
Report Check-InCamping sites with shade, grass, electricity, and those with built braais have a tap with water.
Swimming pool.
Modern, clean, well kept ablutions.
Pet friendly.
Came here after the flooding, clean up has gone well but campsite and ablutions feel dates, as does the WiFi (free and only around reception, slow). Lovely shaded and power available. 175pppn for camping. Not much available in the shop and restaurant tables weren’t cleaned after guests left. Some work to do.
Report Check-InA very nice stay. Lovely shady campsite. Good facilities. Maintenance staff MIA no bins cleaned all week. We recommend this campsite.
Report Check-InVery nice campsite 25km from Upington on the Orange river. Shady with good facilities. Wifi ok. Restaurant good nice on the deck for sundowners. Lots of bugs once lights go on, we do most of our eve chores with red lights or in the dark. Staff friendly but maintenance crew MIA not one bin was cleared while we were here.Flies love it! We do recommend this campsite. Enjoyed our stay.
Report Check-InGreat camp site, grass, shade trees, water & power at most sites. Well behaved & friendly campers. Terras & restaurant on site. Will be back.
Report Check-InThis was a great find. R175ppn. Close to the river with a small restaurant and bar. Great ablutions and small swimming pool.
Report Check-InOn all measures a very nice and well maintained camp site; can get a bit busy at weekends, but there is plenty of space.
Two remarks:
- the place is big rig friendly … but because of the thatched entrance gate, one might want to enter thru the side gate (just 50m to The W)
- we paid R140 pP/n, ie R280 for a couple/night incl vehicle … but this is the pensioner‘s rate … standard seems to be R175 pP/n
The place was a bit crowded but we got a place to stand in the shade. The price was R150 pppn. Good overnight place on your way to Namibia.
Report Check-InVery nice camping ground. As described all perfect. Payed 280 Rpppn
