Come fall this road is beat up with potholes and unpleasantries.
Have fun if you drive down it. No RVs, not a chance.
It worked as a place to park and sleep before visiting Diablo lake in the morning, but wasn’t exactly ideal.
Initially headed far up the road past a bridge but found some beat up old cars and wondered if we found someone’s house or homeless compound.
Turned around and camped more near the road entrance to be safe. Found a spot where we could back into the woods. No issues.
We don't have any photos of this place yet.

it’s pretty back here, but the road is truly full of potholes (doesn’t look like they grade this road sadly). if you have 2WD, it’s definitely doable as long as you have the patience to go 1-3mph to dodge them (wouldn’t recommend anything larger than a van, some spots might work for a tent). we found a legitimate spot we could back our van off of the road (48.5988191, -121.3916754), closer to the river/creek (i’d guess we’re a mile or so off route 20, so a bit further past the original coordinates for this location). multiple pull offs, just not many spots are completely level. thankfully not much trash, compared to some other forest roads we’ve recently stayed at. more cars passed us than we would have assumed, but otherwise quiet. no at&t service.
Report Check-InStayed at a small pull out before this acutal location... road had alot of potholes as stated and we didn't feel like going any further
Fine for any van camper, but wouldn't recommend for a larger RV
original poster was correct. lots of potholes but go slow in your fine, however, I stopped at this spot and didn't go any further. don't know what's up the road. just checking things out in the area so not a place I would ever camp, it's literally on the road. wouldn't recommend this for low clearance or large vehicles. I came in a Chevy Express van. did not stay, I repeat I would not suggest this location. when I came at the end of May, potholes were full of water and road was somewhat muddy. lots of better places to stay!
Report Check-InLot of cars passing all night long. Gravel road with lot of dust. Just a spot for one in the pull out.
