Stayed on night. Beautiful view of the mountains and city lights. Very calm and clean. Would definitely come back.

Nous sommes resté une nuit. Belle vue des montagnes et des lumières de la ville. Calme et propre. J’y retournerai sans hésitation.

Report Check-In

Great place to boondocks. Close to town, past powerlines.

Report Check-In

If you stay here, be sure to drive up the road a bit to find a good spot! At the beginning of the road there is lots of trash and broken glass as previously mentioned. Plus everyone seems to congregate and crowd in down at that location. Up the road at the spot I have found is perfect, no trash, no glass, just beautiful Joshua trees and mountains. Get here with daylight on your side to scout out a good spot and this place is fantastic. I would certainly stay here again.

This place is terrible, would not recommend for longer than a night and only if you have to. There are a lot of people homesteading out here and we have never seen so much trash in a BLM area.... Mattresses, piles of broken glass, shopping carts, and just junk.

We drove down the main road of wheeler pass and tried a couple of the turnoffs and only found trashed areas or breaking bad situations. Came back and went down several other roads and it was even worse. Did not feel like a safe area so we split.

About four miles up the road. basically a gravel road with occasional pullouts or other roads to camp on. wild horses and Joshua trees. went the rest of the way up the pass, it goes into Las Vegas but it's gated off, private property. All kinds of places to camp farther up but no cell signal. a good 3 bars where I am.

Report Check-In

Arrived Sunday night and it is spacious. We have the view of the city light and mountain on the other side. Nice view of Sunrise. Few Rv/ trailers, car camp and we stayed farther to them. So quite at night and little bit cold. T-Mobile signal is good.

Report Check-In

Came out here on a Sunday and it was quite busy. Didn't count all of the people, but easily 30+ vehicles. There's a lot of room, but if you want to have space then you might need to drive up the road a ways. The main road is fine for all vehicles, but beware that some of the spur roads to get to the clearings may be rutted or sandy.
