Bof. A disapointing place. Another overpriced run down place in Africa. Hot water wasnt working, only one man and one woman toilets for a campiste that can host more than 50 people ! And the lady's one wasnt flushing (broken button) so bring a bucket. The bathroom was also dirty and there was big debris in the shower (broken chunks of masonry). Our light wasnt working and we had no power. We dont really care of all of that, we are used to rough places but when you pay 18 USD for a place you can expect a minimum. Of course there was no manager so no way to complain and bargain. The staff is friendly but when you explain them that the female toilet isnt working, they just say the classic "ok ok i will go see" and nothing happen after because they dont care. I m so tired of fighting for every single thing.

The campsites are infested with millions of agressive biting ants so better watch out for those... The next morning, when I wanted to refill our water tank at the tap, there was no water. Only could get 3 L of nasty brown water... The water come from the lake and the pump was probably off or broken.

Some locals hanging out in the property trying to sell us their crappy local craft... Why are we paying to be harrassed ? Why are they allowed in the property ? Insane🤯🤯

The lake water was not clear at all mid october, not very appealing for a swim.
Wifi wasnt working. Food was rather overpriced and atrocious. Our chicken was some of the worse thing we have ever eaten, rubbery but slimy in the same time. Disgusting way to waste 17USD.

We got weird vibes here. Big potential but it felt like a creepy depressing rundown place to us. We left after one night. Better wildcamp or go to Sunset beach lodge east of here, a bit more pricy (700pp) but way better value for your money.

stayed 2 nights, we enjoyed the very quiet place. we were alone in the campsite. truly quiet with a lot of birds and trees. clean and well maintened garden. friendly staff.
electricity, light, brai, garbage bins, water at every campsite. also, a small hut give you protection from the sun or the rain.
the only malus is the rustic ablutions block : hot water with gas but not enough power.
beautiful big and clear lake where we could swim. bar, restaurant, tv, lake activities (fishing or paddles : 300Mt per hour).free and fast wifi at the bar.
150 rands pppn or 500 Mt pppn for camping.
lovely casitas (bed and mosquitoes net) without bathroom : 1000 Mt pppn, if you want to do a break from camping.
easy 4x4 road : sandy but not deep, 10 km from N1. you need a high clearance at the end.

Campsites as described before. The setting is really nice, but everything is a bit run down. Restaurant and bar have very reasonable prices and good free wifi. We had no trouble with electricity, but the geyser for hot water wasn't working. All in all a campsite with potential, but it needs a bit of tlc. Still a descent option to choose.

One of the best place I’ve ever stayed. Super friendly and helpful staff. Nice restaurant with good pizzas and an amazing view from the lake. The last two kms are very sandy so a 4x4 is needed. I did with my motorcycle and it was quite fun. DO NOT ride/drive on the beach without the permitir. The fine is more than 20000 miticais

Great spot at the lake with amazing sunsets. All camp spots and have a small hut where you can sit under for shade. Ablutions fine with hot water shower. There is also a bar serving food and drinks for decent prices. Good WiFi. Paid 500 Met pppn. Highly recommended!

Note: to get here you won’t need 4x4, but a car with high clearance is advisable. If it’s been raining a lot 4x4 is probably needed.

We picked this place as it was the cheapest option in the area 500mts pppn. You get your own rondavel which is nice in case it rains. The lagoon is really nice to swim in and the bar (with wifi) is really nice too. It seems like the place where a lot of South African locals get together. Ablutions are basic but fine.

Spent 5 nights here and we got an upgrade form a 2 bed room chalet to the large 4 bed room house, which was great for the extra room as cyclone Freddy was on the way. Staff are very friendly, free WiFi still around the bar/restaurant, food and service where great during our stay, good Vodacom reception too. The chalets however are in very ‘rustic’ state internally and externally. Everything is very dated, from the front door to the kitchen equipment and matrass’s and towels. The location is great (little hard to get to with a big rig but we did it) but the everything should benefit from a rebuild. I would not come again until this is done.

ok camp grounds on lagoon. Shared abultions between quite a few camps.
There was no electricity during our stay and hence no hot water - which didnt seem permanent but seems to happen rather regularly.
Restaurant had good menu, with free wifi.
Great shaded area close to restaurants to lounge under trees.

Nice staff, nice place. we were only guests. pity it was raining and electricity was out. so no water available.

Beautiful spot on the edge of the lake, it’s definitely rustic but nice. Clean ablutions. Electricity points in each camp site. Pity the camping area doesn’t have the water views, but beautiful views from the bar/restaurant, we braai’d though. 1000 Mets for two people, so a little under R150ppn.
