Description

Nice level, sunny site at the end of a longer driveway. Lots of privacy.

Sites in the PA Delaware State Forests are free, but you need a permit, which can be obtained via phone from the PA ranger. The ranger can advise you on availability and suggest alternative sites.
Plenty of options around.
You can hike and bike in the area. We stayed a couple of days in the fall.

A nice flat sunny spot a couple miles in off Rt 402. You do need to make reservations for this spot. You maybe able to get away free for a night, but they are pay sites. Be ready to move if someone with reservations comes in. Can be found on reserve America. Nice and quiet with a fire ring, grill and picnic table. 2 lines of cell service with Spectrum.

Report Check-In

Nice level campsite with fire ring and (very old) picnic table. Visited in late February and had no trouble getting to the site with four wheel drive and studded snow tires (road was very icy). Just know that this site is relatively high elevation for the area and there has been a lot of logging and clear-cutting in the surrounding forests. the result was enough wind to be a concern in a rooftop tent.

Pro tip: the coordinates for this site are listed wrong in iOverlander. They're close, but if you copy them into Google Maps, it will take you almost an hour in the wrong direction. The state of Pennsylvania requires a free permit to camp here, and on that permit will be the correct coordinates. Copy those into Google Maps and its guide you right to it.
