Federal Wildlife Officer came by and informed me that it is illegal to camp here.

Report Check-In

A Federal Wildlife officer came to my camp and informed me this is not a legal camping spot. It is a federal wildlife refuge. There is BLM land surrounding the area, but this spot is not BLM land. He was polite about it but mentioned he is considering giving citations to future campers. I briefly searched the surrounding area but the road had some spots that were washed pretty badly so I decided to move along.

Report Check-In

This spot is really nice to get a view of the valley. Camping next to an archeological preserve. Very private since there’s nothing here. You won’t hear the highway or railroad since the power plant down the hill has a constant, steady roar similar to a roaring river. Road in is a short drive.

Report Check-In

Absolutely beautiful, pristine spot. Arrived during sunset, it was unbeatable. Stayed one night, in the morning some workers drove by but otherwise nobody there.

Report Check-In

Great views, quiet except distant road noise. Strong Verizon signal. Hot dry heat is tolerable.

Report Check-In

Just as described! Spent the night completely alone here and was not disturbed at all. You can definitely hear the road and trains but it didn’t bother me. Easily accessible to 2WD and low clearance! I watched the sunset on Lake Havasu and drove here after dark. Beautiful sunrise this morning!

Report Check-In

Really nice spot. Only one here. I can hear the sound of the highway but that doesn't bother me. Cool place to stay for a night.

Report Check-In

Big, gravelly pullout (room for 3 or 4 big rigs) overlooking I-40, the Colorado River, beautiful mountains, and fyi gas pipelines. Nice solar exposure, if you're into that. No trees, if you're into that. Occasional traffic (air and hwy) noise, but not too obtrusive (1st day).
Update: traffic noise (hwy, trains) was all night, but city dwellers shouldn't have too much of a problem.
Pretty good cell (Google Fi).
Solid 3 star, but couldn't edit that piece. Hmm.

Report Check-In

Boondock with a view! The road and pullout here is hard packed gravel so no getting stuck and there’s plenty of space for rigs big and small. Windy, great sunset! No other campers. Would definitely recommend and stay again. Lots of exploring in the vicinity!
