MODERATOR NOTE: Place removed because camping is illegal here. Signs posted and enforced
There is a "No Camping" sign at this sno-park with a "no campers" symbol. Parking overnight is not allowed in some California sno-parks and this is one of them.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Nous y sommes venus en 2020. Ce jour le parking est réservé aux campsites.
Report Check-InAccès difficile. Chemin avec de nombreuses ornières qui rendent l’accès impossible à notre RV 37 ft.
Report Check-InLoved staying here. I camped out here for about 5 days now and will be leaving in a few days. Was a bit of a hassle getting my sno-pass permit because the site is not optimized for mobile. So I'd recommend using a computer if you have the option. Like previously commented I just wrote down my pass info on note and stuck it in the front window. I haven't had any issues! Camp hosts seem nice but don't come out much. I've seen them twice in my time here.
The lot gets pretty full at night so I just make sure to get here around sundown and I get whichever spot I want but by about midnight it's full. Also lots of road noise so if you're a light sleeper it may not be for you. As for amenities, the bathrooms are open 24hours and the one on the right side has running water and a light at night. Left is a pit toilet. Across the road is easy access to the lake and a walking/biking trail that goes on for many many miles in both directions.
Overall I'd highly recommend. I don't know what it's like here during snow season or the busy summer season though so beware bc finding other parking around here isn't easy.
1 of the 2 pit toilets was open in winter. It’s also a quick walk down to the lake with picknick tables 👌🏖
Please don’t stay here when it’s going to snow overnight because then the parking lot doesn’t get plowed.
A local asked about our permit (which I didn’t print) and told us camping wasn’t allowed. I also stayed the night with 5 other vanners 🤷♀️
Parking lot across the lake with a (closed) pit toilet. During November - May you have to purchase a permit online and print it out for your dash $5 overnight. We didn’t have a printer obviously so we just wrote a note on our windshield with the permit number and barcode and that they could call us if there were any issues. No issues!
There’s lots of signs saying “sno park rec area closed” but you ARE allowed to park in the lot.
We were next to 2 other vans.
Managed to snag a FF spot in the parking lot. Camp hosts manage the site. Along the road but also right next to the lake. Got quiet at night.
Report Check-In$21 a night pay camping. $15 camping a few miles down the road after it turns to a dirt road. Pit toilets and no internet out there.
Report Check-InNice place to stay for a night or two. Need a permit - $5 a day or $25 season pass. You can buy these at Tahoe Dave’s Board Shop nearby. There’s a bathroom!
Report Check-InGreat sno-park to stay overnight. Lots in the Tahoe area. Permits required. $5/day; $25/season. We stayed at another sno-park in the area and an officer stopped by asking for permits. Permits can be purchased online: http://ohv.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=1233.
Big parking lot to stay in with lake view. Pit toilets onsite. 3 bars Verizon LTE. 2 bars AT&T LTE. Great place for winter. Only downfall is it is located right next to the highway.
