Description

Public Park with two large gravel parking areas. The west parking area is the largest. Google reviews from locals indicate that public parking overnight is allowed. Plenty of room for any size rig and many of them. Bathrooms and dumpsters available. In the middle of town, so amenities are available nearby. A bit noisy due to its close proximity to the interstate and the railroad tracks. Look up the park on Google and it will give you directions directly to the west gravel lot. Be careful of the reviews here......some are for the Sierra Vista trailhead between Las Cruces and Chaparral, NM and others are for Sierra Vista, AZ. This location is most definitely a city park in Sierra Blanca, TX.

The most friendly people here. We parked on the school side of the park mid afternoon. A maintenance person drove up and chatted with us. Let us know it was fine to park there. We didn’t use the bathrooms as they said they shut off the water to the park. We didn’t check. Dumpsters are available. We were next to the basketball court and kids played for a while but nothing else after dusk. Train noise but we liked it. Nice. Will stop again.

Sierra Blanca park with better gps location

We spent a peaceful night here, except for the occasional train passing town. As others have said, there's lots of room here for any sized rig.

As described in previous posts
Bathrooms and dumpsters available, no power on posts in parking lot
Town seams deserted and shut down. Mexican restaurant may have been open, but four loose barking dogs said “ no go”.

Great overnight spot. Dog loved playing fetch in large deserted parking area

Pulled in during extreme wind conditions. Parked on West side of lot behind bleachers for a little wind break. Bathrooms open, dumpsters provided but no power to outlets on posts. Town seams depressed. Only thing open was gas stations perfect place to overnight

Report Check-In

Public park next to the city police department. The bathrooms were open but didn’t seem to be operating but there are two gas stations close by that are quick to get to. There was a group of individuals that played baseketball and played loud music at night when we were trying to sleep but they didn’t stay out super late. The only thing to look out for is when I got out in the middle of the night four big dogs were roaming the park. Otherwise, the sheriff drove by a few times but no one bothered us.

Park is on Millican St in Sierra Blanca. I think it’s exit 107. It’s near the law enforcement building. Later dated entries are accurate and my gps is correct since we are here now. On the west side of park there’s a playground so that’s nice. There are outlets here too.

The latest (2023) reviews are correct. Easy to find and very large enough for multiple big rigs. We spoke to a local who stopped to check out our rig and he confirmed it was safe to stay overnight. The main bathrooms are still locked. Sticker burrs/goat heads are in the grass. Coyotes and stray dogs hanging around so keep track of your pets. Local sheriff saw our dirt bikes and stopped by. He said there were trails nearby.

Great place to park for an overnighter. This spot is the Sierra Blanca City Park in Sierra Blanca Texas. Easy to find just off interstate 10. 3 sides of the park have large gravel flat areas with plenty of parking for our class A and towed Jeep. We parked along the south side. The bathrooms were locked but there is a portapotty in the west lot. There are several posts with outlets on them around the perimeter of the park but not sure if they allow you to plug in. We didn’t try. The train comes through every hour but really didn’t bother us.

Report Check-In

Open and level. Little train noise but perfect.

This is a public park that you can find as Sierra Blanca public park including reviews stating overnights are allowed. It has a large gravel parking area on the west side that is big enough for any size rig and lots of them. There was a porta potty outside the main bathrooms when I was there. Not sure if it's always there to allow 24/7 bathroom access or just temporary. Another gravel parking area on the east side. Both have dumpsters. It's very close to the interstate and railroad tracks so the background was a bit noisy but I was otherwise undisturbed. For a quick overnight, it's good.

I wasn't able to find this place.

sorry but the location is wrong. When I looked today it showed the marker in Sierra Blanca TX at a public park. The description in the comments refer to Sierra Vista trailhead which is located near Las Cruces NM. There's a comment from 'poo' complaining about the coordinates and lists the Sierra Blanca coordinates but they don't make any sense and just confuse.

This place was OK pretty level nice and wide but way way too much Broken glass

Awesome spot! Feels remote and didn’t see anyone else. Some view of the city lights

Great spot for a quick overnight stop. Just up a gravel road a couple miles after exiting at Mesquite. Several pullouts on the way to this larger lot. It’s close to a missile range, so we did hear a few shots/sounds. Still very quiet. Felt safe.

Just passing through we got here in the dark on a Monday night. Only people here. Great view of El Paso and mountains. Must be a local hangout, there are shotgun shells and glass in the parking lot. One local drove through late at night listening to music loud. Other than that, great views and a quite place to camp.

Road got progressively worse the farther you go, but very doable in a Ford Econoline 350. Lovely spot in the desert. pretty flat and very quiet. Finally saw another car at 11AM, other than that, I had the place to myself.

Once you enter Glen Canyon Rec Park there are a lot of pull offs and all of them are equally as gorgeous! It is down a half paved half dirt road and a tad bumpy but accessible for all rigs. Some spots have rocks that show that you can park there. A few cars passed through the night but overall quiet and otherworldly looking. This specific spot was about 3 to 5 miles down the dirt road.

BLM camping at Sierra Vista Trailhead. Once you get off I-10 on the opposite side of the shell you go over the cattle rails and drive maybe a mile or two up and on your left hand side there will be a sign in the bushes for Sierra Vista is you drive in that for maybe 100 meters you will hit the parking lot. There are fire rings and spots for plenty of rigs even large ones. I’ve been there multiple times the first time was a Saturday night and there was one other rig there and cars parked there the next morning to hike the trail, I just parked towards the edge as not to be bothered. The other times when the weather chilled and on weekdays no one was ever in the lot. People do live up the road a little so cars will pass but it’s tucked in the brush enough. It’s a beautiful view for the sunrise and sunset! On one side of the lot I got some LTE Verizon service while on the other side I got no service. There are no amenities but such an amazing spot and so close to El Paso if you do need anything!
