Great views from this overlook! It's right off the main road, however, last night there wasn't much traffic. No Verizon/Visible service but Tmobile and ATT worked.
There were no "no overnight" parking signs and all along the road to this location are other lookout points. I stayed to catch the sunrise and was not disturbed. A few others were here as well, overall quiet place with a view for a night.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
The parking area is open again but it is a day use area only and the picnic/bathrooms are closed for safety reasons.
Report Check-InThe road to get there appears closed, but maybe I should just leave a check-in for that since it might re-open at some point?

Unclear to me if these spots are kosher any more, due to some relatively recent legislation. incredible views for sure but nobody wants The Knock- there was no signage still, but absolutely nobody was trying it on a (very cold) Saturday night, and I decided I'd rather not stick out. Hwy was super busy as of 10:30pm, too.
YMMV!
Parked our van here from sunset to slightly after sunrise with no disturbances. Traffic died down overnight and we had no neighbors and weren't bothered. Slight slant on most available parking
Report Check-InQuite noisy through the night with traffic and wind. Incredible sunrise. Lots of people pulling off the road to photograph the view. Beautiful
Report Check-InInsane sunrise view, the traffic noise at night wasn't too bad to me (white noise). Cold and windy in January but bundled up in the van mitigated it easily enough
Report Check-InIncredible view, tons of pullout options. 18 is currently closed headed down to San Bernardino so the road is much quieter west of Lake Gregory Drive.
Report Check-Inmany pull-offs as mentioned. picnic area is closed due to Covid so nobody there. On a Saturday night there was only 2 cars at the main overlook, and another joined me at one off to the east.
Decent 2-4 bars of service, LTE, but spotty and in & out all night/morning. no services, pack it in & out. plenty of shade to park in, and it's still 50-60°s at night in early June!
road is VERY busy outside of maaaaybe midnight-7am. bring earplugs and a sane state of mind for all the motorcycles ripping up and down the mtns.
Report Check-InGorgeous views of the city and also of rolling green mountains (in May). The road the pull off is off of, calms down around 11pm-midnight, until about 7am, which makes for a pretty peaceful nights sleep. Side note, there’s many pull offs before this one as well, and they all had a car or 2 at them when we came thru pretty late, the whole highway appears to be free game to park off of(in the large pull offs)
