All was well until around midnight two police cars arrived. Spot lights turned on and a knock on the door. Officer was nice and almost apologetic but had to inform us that there was no sleeping allowed in any of the state parks or the beaches. If we don’t sleep we can stay.....we left.

Stayed here 1 night. There are two public parking lots- one is under a bridge and the other is closer to the water. You have to pay to park. We paid $15 for a passenger van and stayed over night. However, we got a knock from a state park ranger the morning we were leaving saying there is no overnight parking in the lots. No signs posted, but we wary! They may start posting “no overnight camping” signs soon.

Really cool spot! I was excited about this place, but I had an issue with teenagers messing around and climbing up my ladder and onto my roof rack. It is a Monday during spring break & and I saw more and more cars pull in later in the evening with young ones, so I decided to head out.

Report Check-In

Decided to stay a second night. About 8pm a park ranger pulled up to my van and asked if I was sleeping there? I told him I was just watching sports. He said that I couldn’t sleep there. I told him I didn’t see any no overnight parking signs but that’s fine. I asked him how late I could stay there. He said you can stay here as long as you want you just can’t sleep here. I wasn’t sure if he asking me to leave or didn’t care but just wanted to let me know I wasn’t supposed to sleep there due to the law in Orange beach. I felt it was the latter and stayed the night and didn’t have any problems.

Nice chill spot very near the Alabama Florida state line. Had a few cars pull up and be kind loud around dinner time but from 10pm-6:30am didn’t hear anything and traffic dies down on the bridge and slept great through out the night. There is also an outdoor shower and place to get water as well as toilets. If you have a bigger rig you could probably park under the bridge and be fine.
