Something not right?

Description

Clearing right off the highway down a dirt road. Easy to miss turn off. Passed it twice because of tail-gaters and not wanting to slam on the breaks. Fork is almost immediate. Keep right to pass up into the clearing. A couple of fire pits and ample space to pick your spot. Won’t be private if there’s anyone else. It’s really just a clearing. You can hear the traffic from the highway through the trees but it got quiet over night.

As described by others. 4 camping spot and when I arrived at 9pm, I took the last one. Probably unused because it is short. Rhum creek is the spot to search. The other spots in iOverlander probably aren’t available most of the time as there is a gate with a pad lock. This place is definitely close to the road so you will hear road traffic. Free!

I checked this place out on my way down to Florida after spending $45 in a campground the night before just so that I would know how to get here on the way back if it was dark. I agree with whomever said to look for Rum Creek Camping in maps. Just don’t turn where it says Rum Creek! That’s a dirt road to people’s homes. The campsite is easy to miss. It’s not marked and it’s just a tiny dirt road. The only thing here is a picnic table and a fire ring that was unfortunately filled with trash tonight. But I wasn’t interested in a fire anyway, just some sleep.

It’s quiet. I’m the only person here. Can’t even hear the traffic.

Camping IS AUTHORIZED! There is a sign posted.

Arrived at night so we passed the dirt road once, and turned around and found it! We were coming from the south off 75. We took the Rumble Rd exit and turned quickly left onto Jenkins Rd and then right onto Danes ferry. The spot is on the left about a mile down. The campground IS MARKED FOR CAMPING, So it is an authorized campground!

Great spot! As described in pictures and posts. I found that using the ‘Rum Creek Camping’ in google maps was exactly where the turn in is bc I also missed it twice in the dark. If you put that in the gps it’s right on the road. A local sheriff showed up to check on me and make sure everything was ok and said camping’s allowed so just be aware. Really nice and no problems. Quiet spot with some street noise but quieted down at night. Would stay here again!

huge open grassy area, road noise during the day, quiet at night. As of 3/31, the gate to Goose road is locked so other sites nearby as inaccessible. As others said, it's a very sharp turn so might have to double back, especially in the dark. Only one here, lots of birdsong, a picnic table and trees for shade. 5 stars!

Like others stated easy to miss. GPS had the entrance about 800 feet before the road. Missed it and had to turn around. Nice little place is pretty close to the highway. Good for one night. Stayed on a Tuesday night. Got there around 6:30pm and left around 7:30am. No issues.

Great spot. 101° All flat, plenty of shade or sun depending on your needs.

nice place to pull off for the night. no one bothered us. just a little clearing with some small fire rings and a picnic area. Verizon service worked just fine. light traffic noise, it's right off a highly trafficked highway.
maps will tell you to turn too soon and at night the turn can be very easy to miss.

We really enjoyed this area. As others have said, it's *very* easy to miss the turn from the main road, because there is no signage until you actually make the turn, and according to GPS, the turn is in the wrong location some 20-30 yards early. Regardless, other than some minor traffic noise, it's a peaceful area with plenty of parking for RVs and vans alike. Multiple fire rings (and materials if more need to be made) and abundant firewood lying about in a bright, sunny clearing, and it doesn't look like it's heavily used. We saw another van come through our second morning, but they took off after letting their dog out. Tmobile phone reception is spotty at best, but data is consistent.

There are no facilities or trash receptacles here, so *please* be respectful. We had to clean up a couple carcasses at other fire rings to keep our doggo from getting into them.

close to the road so there is road noise and I can hear a train off in the distance. plenty of room for multiple rigs. nice spot.

lots of room, close to the road and I can hear a train off in the distance.

Didn't stay just check it out. Old picnic table and a couple rock fire rings. Doesn't look like anyone has been here in awhile.

This is a fantastic grassy field to spend a night or 2 in. I arrived at around 8pm Saturday night and no one else came in here so I had the place to myself. It is very peaceful, with the occasional car that you can hear on the road but other than that a great camping spot! Plenty of room for many vehicles and a few RVs. 10/10

There was a cop that came and drove through the area around 1030, it’s Saturday night so I assume he was looking for a party spot 😂 but other than that undisturbed and a great drone flying location!

Awsome site!! Clean air! No one here and very level ground! It is quite the trek if you’re coming from 75 south like we were but I would say it’s worth it. It probably took us 20 minutes.
