Description

Great small fishing town parking on water, no problem for overnight. Great place to take a Panga Ride and see the Whales. Much less touristy than Lopez Mateo and an hour closer to La Paz. Good paved road dead ends at Estuary parking.

Arrived at a perfect time here in this little Mexican fishing village. It's 6:30 p.m. and all the fishermen are coming in with their afternoon catch. Lovely place to stay beautiful sunset. I highly recommend.

Easy access via a paved road all the way in. At the dead end I pulled to the left along the water and stayed the night.
This is a sleepy lil fishing village. I loved watching the pangas come and go through the inlet.
I ordered ceviche from the restaurant on the corner (there are only two). It was $160 and way more than I could eat. It came with tortilla chips and lil packages of saltines.
Highly recommend this area for a night and maybe a whale watching tour.

They have clean up. Great organization. It is no a nice place to stay for more than one night to go whale watching or fishing. Please ask where to park to the guy on the entrance

Ok so it’s been almost a year since the bad experience from last overlanders here. I’m gonna give it a try. Women living near where I parked was very friendly. I decided to buy a tour at 500 pesos, adding myself to a group. If something bed happen I’ll try to let you know !

Don't recommend! Local tried to shake us down for money at night!!!

Arrived here before sunset, spoke to locals about tours, bought some drinks from the nearest tent structure, felt safe and got ready to sleep. At 10 pm sharp, a local approached the driver side and mumbled a "Hola" a couple of times to get our attention. I shone my flashlight towards him and he was hiding his face, while saying he's security and we have to pay to keep us protected from criminals. I told him we paid to the tour company already and we are OK, we're safe. He then left.
We drove away and stayed at another spot 30 min. north of here.

We just left this spot because when we were sleeping a man came around and woke us up asking for money for protection from "the cartel". we had a whale tour planned for tomorrow morning but don't feel safe staying here.

We stayed here one night and had a quiet night. Three locals told us that's secure here. There is also a toilet for 10 MEX and open the whole night if you ask the owner. We recommend the place.

Hard pass on this little fishing village. We pulled in around 4 pm. Parked waterside where there was a little broken palapa and across from the many temporary shade structures used by the seasonal whale watching companies. We walked to the only restaurant and asked if parking there was okay. We asked three different people and they all said yes. I even put it in G-Translate so they could see it in Spanish. Beautiful sunset, peaceful and quiet. At 11:30 pm a car pulled up directly behind us and turned on their radio at a decibel level that was more than rude. It was intimidating Had we not left the awning out, we would have driven away. We felt they did this to get us out of the van for a confrontation or to encourage our departure. I closed all the windows, fans and screens to dampen the noise. After about an hour, they left. Sad to see what a little village becomes with the influx of whale watchers from La Paz. Some of the locals don't appreciate it. Others make their annual living from the February tours. Nothing to see here and the locals do nothing to keep their little village clean. Nothing. Restaurant food was less than good but not terrible.

Small little village at the of 28km paved road. All locals and Mexican tourists here for whale tours. Seems friendly so I'm staying overnight. There are tons of families hanging out, street outside cafes with ceviche etc. Beautiful inlet, estuary, noview if the ocean though. Lots of whale tours available.

Saying his first because lots of people care and need- 3g Telcel spotty but worked enough for us to work remotely! So that’s good news

We got here on a Tuesday before sunset. Leaving now (Friday)for La Paz. Sweet space to camp on the river on your way north or south. Lots of fishing boats go by since this is a fishing village..you can pay for a whale tour not sure how much didn’t try but spotted some activity in the water not sure if it was a whale though!! Sweet rustic village, with a nice kids park! We have 3 kids so that stuff matters. and one sweet family owned restaurant (which was surprisingly pricey she charged me 160 for fish tacos! Don’t think ever paid more than 120 so far.

Anyway nice flat space to camp for couple nights, fish in your kayak easy launching and nice quiet space on the river. Glad we stopped good internet topped here. We were on Juancalito the week before and made lots of friends so nice to be alone here and make this stop before we head to La Paz.

3000 pesos for a private tour. We didn’t bargain him down. Around 4:30pm the day we arrived, he was willing to set a time for tomorrow morning (8a). We didn’t go for it this time

Visited again 2/17 to have our tour. We’d have needed four more people (we are a couple) to qualify for a group rate instead of private. I didn’t quite understand it, but we waited for like fifteen minutes before opting for a private tour. The tour was two hours long and fun. The guide tried to get us close to the gray whales, but we were never close enough to touch them. It was a windy morning when we left, which made it a bit harder to find the whales and stay comfortable in the boat. The bay got rough past the lagoon. Bathrooms were 10mxp.
