Police stop all vehicles here and ask for the special permiso for Santa Cruz province with information about your stay in El Chaltén. Don't worry if you don't have it printed (I only had it on my phone) you can go into the building and fill one out. They don't ask for proof of reservations, but they do ask for the name of where you're staying. Once you're past this point, the town is open normal no issues. //
La policía para todos los vehículos y piden el permiso especial para la provincia de Santa Cruz. No hay problema si no tenés el papel imprimido, podés llenar un formulario nuevo adentro del edificio. Piden el nombre del lugar donde te vas a acampar, pero no piden una reservación. Cuando pasas este punto, adentro del pueblo de El Chaltén todo normal fácil.
