THIS IS AN ILLEGAL CAMP AND TRESPASSING. SITE CLOSED PER LOCAL SHERIFF.

Report Check-In

Hello, if you are a local sheriff please put reason, code, and where we can read more. You cannot say closed per sheriff as you do not make laws. So if there is a law forbidding something, providing reason, legislature, or private property codes help citizens understand how to approach sites like this and others. When you just say no it makes it hard for us to make reasonable decisions for other stops. If there is no private property sign, no “no overnight” signs, then we have a right to know. For too long officers just say “no” like their word is law. It is not.

I respect property and the law and have no problem finding places that are legal, but there have been so many times we’ve been kicked out of a place because an officer “thinks” it’s illegal then find out later from the city/county that the officer was completely wrong. If you are an officer you are literally paid to know and understand the law, don’t say it’s not your job, it literally is. You don’t enforce thoughts or opinions you enforce laws that you know for a fact exist.

Lastly don’t argue with citizens who have questions, if I ask why something is illegal, I’m not being a smart ass, I’m genuinely trying to learn. Just because some people are snappy or crappy doesn’t allow you to assume everyone. If teenagers can learn customer service and politeness, you can do. The only thing your badge represents is that you joined a public service entity, not that you get to make laws or assume them. Public service is about being kind and helpful, correcting if we are in wrong places by quoting law so that we wont break it next time. Stop trying to “bust” the average person, most of the time people are just ill informed. Deal with it appropriately and with information, not with attitude and threats.

Thanks for reading I guess, tried to make this as cordial as possible p.

Beautiful site we backed our van into. Lots of birds and cool flora. Sunset was a bit hard to see with the way we parked our van but was incredible. Highly recommend. Arrived around 5pm and saw other vans driving by in the evening looking for a spot. Road super narrow and overgrown. Love this spot.

Report Check-In

Just as reported: a deeper pull off than the first two, backed my Sprinter in just fine. Nice view of the lagoon. Really quiet. 3 bars Verizon

P.S. there is another pull off 100 or so yards past this one, and yet another a bit further along which would work for a single van or car, with a great view. These are before the large pull off (post: “Another...”)

Beautiful little “rain forest” feel. Big enough for our small 136” wheel base Promaster to back into and our mid-sized truck (Ford ranger) to pull over. It was rainy but the birds still sang for us. Good partially obstructed view of the lagoon and ocean. Can still hear highway noise but we were far enough that it doesn’t bother us. No one passed down the road at night and just a few during the day. This lagoon area fills up fast so get here early if you can and please remember to leave it better than when you found it. Don’t leave trash. Don’t leave TP.

Report Check-In

Stayed here two nights in a promaster van. Nice views of the lagoon and beach.

Report Check-In

The third pull out on the left on old state highway above highway 101. This pullout is on a curve but seemed deeper than the previous two on the road. This was a very quiet spot and no one bothered us. I had full bars on my phone (sprint).
