Description

Nice little spot. No “no overnight parking” signs. Right by beach. It’s a dirt road to a sandy spot. Cars can pass by and see you, but you can also pull in behind trees on the left side.

this is 12 mile, as the locals call it. some don't care, but some get uppity about folks staying here. a mile up the road at the next spot (13 mile) is more hospitable of an area. this spot is used by local fisherman. so they tend to be a bit on edge, but knowing most, harmless.
id try to avoid using it even though I know most folks in the area.
this county (Franklin ) is the most corrupt legally. they will violate your rights if you do not know them.
I'm a very honest fellow. I call it like I see it.
trust me, go up the road a mile. be safe.

BEWARE! We pulled in late to sleep for the night, when we woke up and stepped outside we saw there were HUNDREDS of screws face up all over the ground. Someone does not want people here, or just a jerk. Intentionally placed no doubt. Some punctured our tires. We cleared enough to get out without more risk but do not recommend this spot.

We arrived here for the night around 7:30 PM. We were the only car and it was very quiet until around 9:40 PM. A truck came and backed up to set up the net for fishing, I guess. Around midnight, another truck came with a boat, for fishing also? The trucks made a lot of noise. Both left around 12:50 AM. One of the truck came back right before 7:00 AM to get the fish by taking the net out, I guess.

Great spot, stayed one night. Nobody else here, very quiet. The sand in the last 20 yards is very soft. I would have been stuck if I hadn’t had 4x4. But as long as you don’t drive on the last 20 yards it’s solid road and no 4x4 necessary

Not a dirt road anymore it was paved since. We are spending a night here.

Same comment as everyone else. We got here around 9:30pm mid June 2022 on a Friday. Slept great - no traffic. Saw some fireflies and it was a clear night - close to a full moon. When we woke up around 4am, there were TONS of mosquitos so beware. Great spot for a night.

This is a fantastic boondocking site! I spent one night with my little van tucked into a little spot on the east side - just steps from the water. The little road noise vanished entirely by 10 and the night was peaceful and dark (no electric lights anywhere nearby- great for stargazing).

There is some trash around the site, but it is surprisingly clean considering how accessible it is. The beach gets more beautiful and interesting as you head away from the site in either direction. This is unspoiled gulf coast beach - with no development for miles. And yes, the mosquitoes and noseeums come out at sunset.

Looked like a nice spot for the night. No trespass signs appear to be for the land/forested area either side of this road. We did not stay the night but seemed like we could have stayed if we wanted to. Nice view over the water. Limited turn around room (3 point turn with a 21ft van)

Decent spot. There are orange ‘NO TRESPASSING’ signs tied to several trees as of March 5, 2021. I assume this is for the land around the road but I didn’t stay to find out. :-)
