Latest Check-Ins

No camping allowed but you'll probably get away with it. They were doing a controlled burn one day and I was nicely told there's no overnight parking. They recommended the Orange Creek area just down the road though. (edit: orange creek is totally out if you plan on sleeping INSIDE any type of vehicle)

Report Check-In

First of all, the Google link is wrong. Use the referenced GPS coordinates in the review to the entrance road.

Next, it is clearly marked NO CAMPING in the parking lot. We did find a remote spot within the Nature Preserve to camp

Report Check-In

Stayed for one night and it was BEAUTIFUL. We were gonna stay another night but it started thunderstorming and raining very HARD and we didn’t want to risk getting flooded in. Bumpy road but I thought it was fun!!

Report Check-In

Arrived after dark in our truck camper w no issues. From midnight to 7am there were roosters going off every 15 seconds and at 7am the trucks were piling in. One bar att. Probably wouldn’t stay again

This place no longer exists. Apartments!

Report Check-In

Very nice grove of mossy covered oak trees at a public pier/dock for fishing. There was some loud boats loading and unloading when we arrive around 5pm but they left shortly after loading the boats. We had 2-3 loud vehicles come and go throughout the night which seemed odd for a Sunday night, but overall it was quiet. The road getting there wasn’t bad at all, even after some minor rains. Some minor pot holes but nothing our van couldn’t handle, even a car would be fine. Definitely worth the trip!

As others said, this isn't at the marked place. It's down a dirt logging road, Burnt Island Park

Report Check-In

Arrived after dark and spent the night. Found signs in the morning that this is Burnt Island Park managed by the St. John's River WMD. Camping is not on the list of allowed activities so we're leaving to find a place it is. Very pretty and great cell signal here.
As others say, Google maps won't get you here. You have to take a dirt road that intersects with the divided highway 301. GPS for the intersection:
29.474656,-82.105081

Report Check-In

The GPS does not take you the right way. There is a small rough dirt road off of route 301 that you must take to get to this location. it is a dirt boat ramp with a fishing pier and a covered picnic area. It is slow going to get out here but well worth it once you were here.
