Something not right?

Description

Found the spot using satellite overhead map. The road seems to be well-maintained with plenty of pull off locations for camp. This is simply a great spot for overnight parking or making camp with no amenities. It appears that many have had camp fires out here

Great spot! Stayed here for a couple weeks with a tent. Went to work on delivery to the town and left the tent at the spot everyday, nothing happened. The only problem is the strong wind sometimes.

This is a peaceful quiet wonderful view Boondocking area. I stayed here before, but now road is graded with higher sides. Problem is - only one access off the road now, so you can still park any desired spot, if no one else is there. The other spots off the road are now a 4x4 /ATV access spot. Trailhead Parking is an overnight(s) place too, where I stayed 3 nights. FYI Weekends seem to be “Target Practice”, shooting all day long. Sunday was Noon to Sunset. One car pulled in to fire guns, leaves, next car pulled in. Repetitive.

Not much here for overnight camping with no real pull outs. The recent rains have washed away most everything. The road is very well ‘maintained’ for the gravel trucks with high berms making turn offs impossible. There is a couple of places where you can pull off the main road. Most everything else’s is Jeep country and inadvisable for trailers. We found one spot that I pulled my 40’ camper in but not without considerable effort because of the sand. We got stuck and had to disconnected my camper, air down the tires and dig out. The sand is deep and gravely. There is also the arroyos (washed) to consider with potentially hazardous situations when it rains.

This would be a really beautiful spot if it weren't for the garbage EVERYWHERE. Clearly this is a spot that drunk gun enthusiasts in the area use to have fun without respect for the land. Pretty if you stay at a spot before the trailhead in view of Mt. San Jacinto, plenty of spots on this road though. We stayed here for two nights while we visited Joshua tree just an hour away.

Hugh Area, lots of space, every kind of car, even tents, less trash, seems like they clean it, very good for visiting the area

This is akin to a junkyard, I couldn't see anyone being able to safely walk their dog with the metal and broken glass everywhere.

not much else to see. cops come thru often so expect it.

Entire road leading up to this trailhead has flat, campable ground on right. Some areas more garbage than others. If you go all the way down to the trailhead, there will be flatter parking lots fenced by boulders. Probably okay to camp in off-season. This is a new 9 mile thru-hike to Yucca Valley, through JTree, opened to the public in early Dec 2021. Quiet except for planes overhead, decent reception, awesome views. Felt super safe. Please do not add to the garbage here and if you can, pack extra out.

Arrived late and only saw the garbage situation in the morning. Sunrise views were breathtaking though.

Stayed two nights here. Great spot easy to get to and quite at night. 1-2 bars of 5g AT&T. I recommend to go chill at the dog park and you can park in the shade during the day so it’s not so hot. Some litter and people do come up here to shoot guns but I felt very safe and solitude.

I've never seen more garbage/glass/tires. Stayed the night anyway since the nearby whitewater canyon road was closed to pulling off and the Whitewater preserve was already closed for the day.

like the other post say. this place has a long dirt/sandy road that goes into the canyon I believe... there's a ton of parking and camping. 4x4 isnt recommended but I made it fine with a lower Subaru even off the road a bit for safety. 🤘 Vans, crossovers and trucks will make it with ease. hope to see or meet some of you. this place is my go to now. -kgbbmx

As previously described, the road is good and several places to pull off. However, be advised the trash problem is pretty bad! Trash, shotgun shell casing, etc. are everywhere and I would describe it as one of the "trasher" places we have stayed.
