Description

Valley of the Gods is one of the most beautiful BLM areas I think in the country. The fact that is hasn’t turned into a national park is astonishing. I could live here in my van. 10/10. This site was part of bears ears but is now BLM. no campfires allowed. no services.

So we didn't stay the night here because I was scared to parking here at night, but it turns out it would've been fine.

We are a 35ft skoolie and had no issues getting to this spot. There is a steep hill right before the parking, but thats the only real obstical. The creek is wet right now but totally traversible and not muddy at all.

Some AT&T service

Stopped at the first large pull in. Quiet night although you can hear the few lorries passing along the main road very slightly.

In the morning we continued around the 17mile loop in our RWD Sprinter based Motorhome. Lots of other park up opportunities

Quiet in the winter but super beautiful. You must cross a small low drainage, no problem if dry but don’t cross if rain in the forecast, steep up at the end to the first spot but not that bad for most rigs. Good road, perfect sky for Starlink. Was solo on a Saturday night.

Beautiful spot for sure. Not the quietest as other comments here are claiming — you can literally see the highway, so you will hear/see any car coming by. Granted, it’s not a super busy highway, especially at night, but you’ll still hear and see all the same.

Super dark for nice stars.

0 Verizon signal at all.

Wow! Nous l’avons fait avec notre Vr 24 pieds et un trailer de 12 pieds sans problème. Un 1986 Diesel ahah alors n’importe qui peut le faire!! Super tranquille.

Amazing place. Can fit any rig size. Could be muddy if it rains. Downhill and uphill at the entry. Made in 2WD with a F150 and 25' trailer. View is really awesome here. Half an hour from Monument Valley.

an absolutely fantastic spot just north of Monument Valley, past Mexican Hat. we camped 3 nights, but didn’t see too many rigs. beautiful views. had a bit of AT&T service, but not Verizon.

Extraordinaire endroit. Des places à profusion à votre choix selon votre type de VR et la condition de la route. Une Loop de 27km à faire.

one of my favorite boondocking spots I've come across! this is the beginning of a 17 mile long road loop with many spots all along it. the best spots are near where the road goes up into the hills and makes a U. at that point I wouldn't recommend anything with long wheel bases like RVs or skoolies or anything hauling a trailer. you might get stuck. but leading up to that point on either side would be fine for any vehicle. I watched a Prius drive thru the middle section of the road, so use that info how you will in terms of what kinds of vehicles could make it. anyways, beautiful place that rivals monument valley and the only reason I can imagine why it's open to dispersed camping is because of how remote it is. I'd stay here again a million times over and can't state enough how lucky we are to be able to stay in such an amazing place.

We stayed just up to the road from this parked spot. There are many spots along the way. We didn't go too far but lots of people were out for the day driving the loop. Gorgeous views!

LOVED being here. A bit wet and bumpy so go slow, though lots of different vehicles made it just fine. I took a spot at the top of the hill, at an overlook. Big space up there for a few vehicles. Saw others spread out below. Excellent views. Lots of cars driving by though as it's a well-travelled driving tour.

This has been such a wonderful spot to base some adventures for the past couple days.
The road further on isn’t good enough to take our Skoolie so we just snagged this first spot.

So many spots in Valley of the Gods! Crazy that this is free, its just like monument valley.

We stayed at the first big pull out, along other vehicles that joined later. Sunset was beautiful amongst the monuments.

Took the drive around the loop in the morning & saw so many more spots, but the road does get worse as you go in further. Theres a certain point in where itd be hard to do with anything longer than a van, and def dont recommend for any vehicle if its raining

Awesome place. The setting is superb.
Sign at the entrance says:”road impassable when wet” and you should definitely believe that. You go through a washout at first and a little steeper hill right before the spot.
But absolutely doable in our RWD Sprinter.
Saw a little FWD Toyota struggeling there, but did it in the end.
Would absolutely recommend this place!!

What a great spot to stay overnight. Easy in with 18ft trailer pulled with 2wd van.

Drive slow. Can be dusty. As stated, wash off the highway is daunting. Well worth the effort to find a spot. amazing views.

Very quiet and secluded. I think only 1 other vehicle was out here. 360° views. Beautiful place to camp

Large flat camping spot near the highway on the Valley of the Gods loop. Could fit numerous vehicles

great huge sites, 2wd van capable if not muddy, beautiful 17 mile loop to see valley of the gods, windy, no fires allowed, no pit toilets, enough Verizon to send a text only.
