Description

Big open parking lot on Lake Rousseau.
Building at one end that has a light that stays on all night, but other than that it’s quiet and hardly any noise from the street.
There’s a porta-potty, and 3 covered docks with picnic tables on the lake.
One bar of service with Sprint, but worked well enough.

Highlights:
Fireflies at night, lots of stars, big grassy areas perfect if you have a pet, felt safe and quiet enough to sleep with my back doors open to let a breeze in.
Picnic tables on dock were perfect for coffee in the morning. Even had an alligator keep me company while I journaled. (he was nice and stayed in the water.)

Latest Check-Ins

There ARE signs saying no overnight camping, not sure if it's enforced. I stayed overnight as a last resort with no issues, there were three others staying as well.

Ditto all comments, but wanted to add: at lower parking lot we noticed sign that said no camping (see photos). Then realized there was duplicate sign at main entrance, but it was turned parallel to road so it was not visible when driving in. That said, we decided to stay a second night and still had no problems.

Report Check-In

No issues staying here with truck and travel trailer. Pretty lake. Quiet at night

Report Check-In

Spent two nights here. Such a great spot to at. It was very peaceful and quiet. 1st night another van parked next to me and stayed the night, next night another van was already parked. If you have time check out the trails by the spillway, was a great way to spend my last morning in the area.

Will be back! Please pack it up and keep it clean! Don’t want to lose this stop!

Report Check-In

Stayed one night in a van with no issues at all. Few boaters came in the morning early but not much of a bother. Plenty of grass for the pups and a nice lake

Report Check-In

As stated before, large open parking lot with a boat launch. Mostly fishing culture, with many friendly fishermen that leave after dark. One of the quietest and most peaceful parking lots I’ve stayed in. Big enough for a big rig, as many fishermen tow their boats into here. 3-4 bars Verizon service. Porta potty. Arrived at 5pm and stayed until 10am. Lots of birds turtles and alligators in the water besides fish :)

Report Check-In

Last of the fishermen cleared out an hour after dark, just my little van and a class A on the other side of the big paved lot. A couple carloads of kids raced in at 2am to (I’m guessing) drink a few beers but they were surprisingly quiet. Didn’t hear them leave.
Quiet, no signs prohibiting overnights, mostly level. Would stay here again.
