Don’t stay here. Overnight camping is not allowed anywhere in Cambria except green valley road.
We stayed here to work, walk the beach, and cook dinner but be sure to leave by 9pm and move to green valley rd to sleep because we saw 5 campervans get kicked out of this spot JUST as we were leaving. We Missed the dreaded knock by minutes I’m sure.

Report Check-In

Got woke up by the State Park Police at 8am. Due to popularity they are now patrolling this area. The west side of the road is still state park jurisdiction, and they are writing tickets for overnight parking. Apparently ioverlander has been drawing less favorable crowds to the area and break-ins are happening. Park here at your own risk.

We parked here last night in our Sprinter with another promaster, a shuttle bus and a small RV. No problems, and it was nice and quiet at night. Traffic/activity starts up around 6:30am even on Saturday. It's pretty flat if you move around a bit to find a good spot.

Nice spot for two nights, just off the road. A little bit of local traffic, but a safe and quiet night. Make sure to check out the local farmers market on Friday afternoons!

Report Check-In

Parked van overnight side of road pullout. In the morning I was told CHP will chase you out after two nights. Close to water and park. No hassle from locals. Occasional passing cars.

Very quiet place to stay overnight,by ocean also a Long path for walking !!! NO problemas staying here .

Report Check-In

Parked my sprinter on the shoulder on Southbound side, in between the park and the stretch of hotels. Wasn’t bothered. Some cars, mostly ocean sounds. Using the bathroom at the park. Not terrible

Report Check-In

Great place, was sound asleep when three big trucks decided to pull in directly in front of me blaring music with their lights on at 9:30pm. So I left. This is how we get “no overnight parking signs.” maybe don’t decide to draw attention to a lone car camper who is already asleep when there’s a dozen pullouts in the next mile, idk.

Report Check-In

Quiet, with people strolling nearby. There’s another Winnebago camper van nearby. Not sure if they’ll stay the night. We’re wondering if this will work or whether we’ll get a knock at 02:00. We’ll find out!

Report Check-In

The nearby hotels don’t seem to mind. Several newer model class Cs, trucks with trailers, one Promaster, and one older model minivan were parked here all night. The minivan owner told me, “Moonstone Beach Drive is great for overnighting. They let us stay here. It’s pretty quiet at night, except for the sound of the ocean. Use the water spigot and toilets at the nearby day-use state park.”
