We didn't camp here, but discovered this spot while on a hike while staying at Selby Campground down the hill. It likely gets very windy here at night. Also, though the road up is steep but flat and doable in most vehicles, there is a significant dip going into the spot from the road. To get past this dip you'll need a high clearance vehicle or build yourself a bridge or ramps or something. Marking it as unsuitable for big rigs for this reason alone. Very quiet and peaceful area , very beautiful. After a wet winter the blooms are supposed to be beautiful here.

Lots of turnoffs on the road to the Caliente ridge trail. The valley floor was hot but it was much nicer and more secluded up the hill. Easily doable by a AWD or 4WD, nothing crazy.
