Camping here is not allowed. You will get fined, and they could close this whole area to everyone.

camped here for one night after stopping by Tuzigoot National Monument. about 5-6 miles from the monument, decent drive out there. we pulled off soon after the pavement ended and didn’t have any issues.

Beautiful spot! It’s not a very large spot and is just off the road, but mostly quiet and with amazing views all around. If you go past this spot there were some huge puddles that we didn’t want to risk going through with our 2WD van so we stayed here. Great Verizon reception too!

very quite. cool to see the lights of the city in the distant. 4 bars 5G T-Mobile. great night sleep away from the busy Sedona in a cool little town

there's also a river before entering the national forest which was nice to chill out at while it was still hot

Found a nice spot away from the crowd, make a sweet fire pit for everyone to enjoy

Great spot for our campervan. Easy to get to, quiet and beautiful sunset

After a quick drive and going through Old Town Cottonwood....which looked pretty cool and unlike Sedona....not tourist-trappy, I ended up here....still in the Coconino National Forest, but on FR9515. Aside from the very fine red dust here.....this site checks all the boxes. Great views, wide open, hardly anyone around and thankfully....no mad cows. 😆. 14 day max stay. Free. No services. Big rigs should be ok, access road is kept in good shape.... but larger areas seem to be fairly limited, but I haven't looked around all that much...if you are creative, I'm sure you can figure something out. The internet is great! VZW is 42mbps down/16 up. ATT is 64 mbps down/4 up. The OTA is pulling in an impressive 49 channels.

nice scenery here. the road to it is a little rough but if you take it slow, any car can make it. I have full bars of tmobile👍 pretty quiet and close to town. you can see Jerome from here too which is cool!

FR 258 decent Fire Ring little bit of mesquite wood available. just a place to park no name place was closed off before level so we continued in a little bit further and found this T-Mobile cell and internet 2 bars. a few trucks through the night passing by.

Fantastic place. Super quiet, only saw 2 other campers and a couple atvs. Excellent Verizon and ATT. This is land in Coconino National Forest so don't be put off by the "no camping beyond this point" sign near the national monument. Just keep going until you go over the cattle guard. Very flat, but the road is a bit rough down some paths.

Report Check-In

Free, quiet, good views, accessible without 4x4. Verizon good

Nice, quiet spots off Sycamore Canyon Rd, some with views of the Verde River. Most sites have some palo verde or juniper shrubs/trees for windbreak, but they’re not big enough for shade mid-day. 4 bars Verizon service at hilltop spots to zero bars at spots closer down to the river. The scenic train does come through a few times a day on the other side of the river, but that train is quiet. A louder train came through at about 3 am the second night we stayed, but only the once. Overall really nice spot to spend a few days close to the little town.
