We had a bit of an issue at first as we ventured a little off the hard packed road and sank into the trail. But after getting free we stayed at the parking lot for the boat launch. We did notice that they have no fires posted for the area. Even during our cool, wet weather spring/winter time visit. Did not use the pit bathroom and the window on the side was broken out. We had a great time and saw only a couple people during the day. Had a great time taking our kayaks out on the lake. I would think this area gets busy during the warmer month. Not sure if you need a discovery pass to park here but we had one anyway.
Report Check-InGreat lake side campsites. At some point in June, expect swarms of mosquitoes at sites next to Lake, so go in May and it's awesome.
Federal public land as Bureau of Reclamation, and does not require Washington discover pass.

Lost of garbage in the area unfortunately, some sites are cleaner than others. Could be a windy location, although there is some brush for cover and this area is not right along the main fetch of Banks Lake.
